Federal Court Again Concludes Texas Crafted ID Law to Hurt Minority Voters

Lauren McCauley, staff writer

For the fifth time, a court has ruled that a Texas voter identification law was passed with the intention of discriminating against black and Hispanic voters in the state—hopefully sounding "the death knell" for the egregious voter suppression effort.

Imagine that...a state in which the Hispanic vote is a decided majority (and usually vote Democratic) and the state legislature passes laws targeting these and other minority voters (for all intents and purposes) to disenfranchise them Thank heavens for a sane justice rendering the decision to outlaw the unlawful law. Wasn't it enough to gerrymander the hell out of the state thanks to Tom DeLay? Guess not...they want to shoot the ENTIRE barrel of fish until the water runs red.
