The stench of desperation!
As someone who became politically conscious in 1964, this never ceases to amaze-and shock me. This sort of overt across the board behavior would never have been tolerated in the past. The exceptions, of course, were suppression of Black voter rights mostly in the South. Trump is extending Jim Crow attitudes to everybody.
Trump is an evil, pathological monster; but he is also a symptom of the moral and political degradation of this country. This on top of the historic genocide, racism and imperialism that has marked US history. It just gets worse. I believe it can truly be defined as Fascism; Mussolini, who defined that term, would be proud.
Reverse this and imagine the response, if a democratic president were to do the same thing, every democrat and republican would be screaming into the camera. But trump is enabled by the right, and for the most part the dems are silent.
PS: Of course, the essence of fascism is the tolerance of a large segment of the population for absurdly outrageous and destructive behavior that defies previous norms; complemented by the raw fear and intimidation of those who don’t agree and have a sense of decency.
This is a tolerance that has most unfortunately increased over the last several decades.
They picked MT because MT had one of the most successful vote by mail primaries in the country. T and his cronies probably do not care if they win the case or not. Their aim is to cause disruption and generate doubt and uncertainty.
