Following 'Appalling' Deaths of Migrant Children in CBP Custody, Sen. Elizabeth Warren Demands Answers From White House

Andrea Germanos, staff writer

Sen. Elizabeth Warren took aim Tuesday at the "appalling" string of deaths of migrant children in U.S. custody and demanded to know what plans the Trump administration has to protect those detained at the southern border.

"I have been and continue to be extraordinarily concerned about this administration's treatment of immigrant children," the Massachusetts Democrat wrote.

The treatment of the migrant detainees, which included housing in deliberate uncomfortably cold conditions, crowding, sleep deprivation, and arbitrary solitary confinement are all form of torture under the UN Torture convention, which the US signed and ratified (but with the condition that render it useless).

Where is the world?

The government has asked for an additional 1.3 billion in funding so hopefully we will see some improvements. Still the risks increase with all the shelters on the border full and thousands more people each month.

Warren wants answers from the White House. Well they will send them along with all records requested by House committees. Hope you are patient Liz.
