Following Trump Administration's Bullying, ICC Judges Reject Probe Into War Crimes in Afghanistan

Andrea Germanos, staff writer

The International Criminal Court announced Friday that it rejected a probe into possible war crimes and crimes against humanity in Afghanistan, including those committed by U.S. forces.

The decision is "a shocking abandonment of the victims which will weaken the court's already questionable credibility,” said Biraj Patnaik, South Asia director at Amnesty International.

From here on out the US can commit all kinds of atrocities with impunity. The ICC is devolving into a kangaroo court…

The ICC judges need to be reminded of the results of Neville Chamberlain appeasing Hitler.

O now, the ICC has been without consequence for years. And T-rump isn’t the only US president to cut its funding, denounce its findings and generally hold us above this courts decisions. It’s just that T-rump, is so crude, vulgar and ugly that our little self righteous, comfortable middle class yuppie “liberals” can no longer claim ignorance of the decades long corruption of this body.

From the article:

“… the decision can’t be decoupled from U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Trump national security adviser John Bolton’s recent threats…”

Since their records indicate that they might be found guilty of war crimes by any court of competent jurisdiction, their hostility might be based more on personal considerations rather than abstract policy.
