'From the Ground Up': A National Action Plan for Community Policing and Racial Justice

With protests against police brutality, mass incarceration, and systemic racism sweeping the nation, activists seeking to empower local movements and elevate on-the-ground solutions have developed a set of resources that highlights the "the slow but sustained work of many communities to enact meaningful reforms that transform both the practices and the purposes of our policing and criminal justice systems."

We must bring democratic governance to our local communities because the elected bi-partisans are too busy pandering to Wall Street at our expense to be bothered with actually governing.

No, I think the a amount of latent racism surprised many of us. Around President Obama, for instance...otherwise intelligent people assumed absolutely contradictory positions, even in their own eyes. The same can be said for the background pursuit of "Empire". When was "Empire" ever open to debate in this country? Yet we spend $trillions on it.
