Global Survey Reveals Six in Ten People Think World More Dangerous Place Since Trump Took Power

Jon Queally, staff writer

Ahead of mass protests planned in the UK to confront "the nuclear warmonger of our age," a worldwide survey focused on global stability and the trends of governance has found a majority of people believe the planet has become a riskier and more dangerous place since U.S. President Donald Trump was elected in 2016.

45’s Presidency threatens the existence of all living organisms.

If this isn’t motivation to remove someone, I don’t know what is.

Half a century ago, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. named “the greatest purveyor of violence in the world—my own government.” Only the faces (and the technology) have changed.

“A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines.”
–Ralph Waldo Emerson (from Self Reliance)

Saving the World is a mighty endeavor
That can break the heart of those on the trail,
As well as the one who just wants to be clever.
Renew your efforts on a smaller scale,
There are ideas that cannot fail.

Share with those you find around you
Mighty weapons are hugs and smiles
And you’ll find they come back to you, too.
Love scatters light for many miles
Lighting the way to the plan in the files.

Lately the news seems filled with hate and tragedy;
Only occasionally does love and kindness appear.
Verily, we need a new strategy
Encouraging empathy and forgiveness instead of fear.

Teachers revered throughout history have always taught love,
Hatred is proved but a sordid blind alley.
Youth has always sought a path of enlightenment in the light above.

Now we are facing a cult of hate and destruction,
Engorging itself upon power and greed.
It is time We the People begin giving instruction,
Growing love and compassion with new seed.
Hatred is like being chained to an oar in a galley.
Brotherly love can snap the chain and break the oar,
Or, take the galley and head for an halcyon shore
Resolving in peace, that of hate, we will take no more.

Only 6? I would have thought it would been 8 or 9 out of 10. Trump is a monster who threatens the whole world.

Correct. I once went after this POS who challenged that quote because he asserted that King wouldn’t have used a word like “purveyor”. Unbelievable.

I forgot to mention that this is an acrostic verse. Read the message down the initial letters of the lines. I hope it is good advice.

I feel the same as you but I’m at a loss of what to do.What’s going to have to happen to wake the brain dead out of their coma?
Everytime he opens his mouth he makes us LESS safe shouldn’t that be enough.

Probably, something very tragic I fear Susan.

I hope that I am wrong, however, Trump is intent on dividing us to the point of aggression.

Let’s hope he strokes out real soon.

I used to pray for Universal Peace on Earth, until I realized how improbable, if not impossible that is. Trump is just the latest symptom. It would require that every individual make the decision to live in peace with every other individual. Instead, we have the power to kill every individual resting in the hands of a couple of individuals, of questionable sanity. To say we have a long way to go is wholly inadequate. Sure, there could be, and are, pockets of relative peace here and there and I hope to find one. But the ability to kill the planet must be wrested from the lunatics who currently hold that power or we are all lost, to what may be nothing more than a whim.
