Greece 'Shoved Over Red Line' as IMF Pushes Harsher Cuts

Greece 'Shoved Over Red Line' as IMF Pushes Harsher Cuts

Lauren McCauley, staff writer

More austerity, more cuts, or no deal.

That's the message the International Monetary Fund threw back at the Greek government after negotiators on Wednesday rejected the latest reform proposals submitted by the Syriza government.

Seems like those at the top don’t know the difference between simple right and wrong.

I wonder if the Greek default will be the modern equivalent of the failure of the Viennese Kreditenansalt in 1929.

“If a deal is not reached and creditors refuse to release bail-out funds
by the end of the month, Greece risks defaulting on its debts, possibly
spurring an exit from the European Union.”

And, if this happened, what exactly are the consequences?

It is all simple. “God must love the poor, he made so many of them.”

  • The poor are largely surplus and have no value, so if they starve or freeze or die of untreated illness, it makes no difference.
  • However, every dollar, every drachma, every franc, every yuan must be collected and squeezed until the absolute maximum of profit can be recovered, to be put in the bankster’s ledgers, to show how powerful and special they are.
  • Some day, perhaps, they will collectively end up like Mussolini, hanging by their heels over a cess pit while the people throw stones and rotten fruit at them.
  • Couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch.

I agree with all of that. It makes a person wonder why they’ve not thrown off their chains earlier. Perhaps the Greek elites have already made a deal, behind the scenes, with the military to step in if Syriza does default. They did it before when former elected leaders tried to stand up to the oligarchs.

I know this sounds Crazy–but what about someone starting a ‘Go Fund Me’ campaign for Greece? Not necessarily to repay the banksters and IMF, but to help them with their financial/pension/people are hungry crisis? Even if they do go back to the drachma, and quit the euro economy? After all, Greece is “the cradle of democracy” and they have been through a lot. Nazi invasions, Dictators and bloody Generals ruling them, and now this. I know it couldn’t bail them out, but would be a media symbol of solidarity. strong text

It doesn’t sound crazy to me as I’ve advocated crowdfunding for Greece for several months but I think someone over there in the Greek government probably needs to do it. It’s not something outsiders can set up and implement but could contribute to.

C’mon Greece, pay up; Lloyd Blankfein needs a new yacht to sail around the islands he intends to extricate from you.

Bingo! We have a winner. Not that Mr. Putin hasn’t glanced at a few resort brochures himself. s/

Agree, but isn’t Soros on the side of Syriza?

They know but they don’t care. To care, one must have a conscience.

Usury at that level is a killer. I guess they are going for that pound of flesh.

But, of course, they will have a guarantee or a pack of lawyers to ensure that the blood goes with it.

I encourage folks to watch and even makes notes on CATASTROIKA, a Greek documentary, with English captions, made in 2013. One of the best public teaching instruments I’ve see yet on what is being fought and the context of the nearly 3 decades leading up to this.
Increasingly looking like inverted totalitarianism, against which none of the planet’s “nations” are yet immunized.

I am in for fifty. How does a person find pre-existing Greek charities/food pantries to send it to?

I think creditors should expect to see sweeping changes rather than a Greek default on pensions.

The quality of mercy is not strain’d,
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath: it is twice blest;
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes:
'Tis mightiest in the mightiest: it becomes
The throned monarch better than his crown;
His sceptre shows the force of temporal power,
The attribute to awe and majesty,
Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings;
But mercy is above this sceptred sway;
It is enthroned in the hearts of kings,
It is an attribute to God himself;

The IMF (Christine Legard)…
The European Central Bank…
And the EU (headed by that monster in Germany, Angela Merkel)…
(in other words the unholy Troika)

Are trying to DESTROY Greece and KILL as many Greeks as possible in the process.
There is going to be an accounting about this, soon.
To HELL WITH YOU Angela Merkel
To HELL WITH YOU Christine Legard
May you all rot in a super-hot corner of HELL.

Only vampires keep sucking the blood of their victims until they are dead. And the TROIKA are VAMPIRES.

This should be shown, and watched world-wide! As the uberwealthy continue to play their sordid little game, We the People of the World are being shoved into poverty, starvation, sickness.

  • Whatever is noble, charitable, helpful is being stamped into the ground in order to recreate an even more vicious fascism than Mussolini ever created, a blacker and more ruthless National Socialist state than Hitler concocted in his wettest dreams.
    Mussolini wound up hanging by his heels, being pelted with rocks, ordure and garbage. Hitler killed himself in the Fuhrer Bunker in Berlin to avoid capture by the Russians, but their legacy seems to live on, as country after country falls for the same ol’ bullshit.
  • If We the People of the World would ever wake up and act together, these wealthy parasites could share the same fate as their progenitors, but, alas, that never seems to happen, and nation by nation, the “common man” is enslaved. The whole world is turning into a concentration camp and all anybody can see is the latest IPad, the latest “Smart” phone, and the biggest wall sized TV with which to watch mind-numbing crap until they can no longer think.
  • Wake up, World! We outnumber them by billions and we should not be subordinated, humiliated and starved by that handful of greedy manipulators. Let them join Mussolini, Hitler, and other “Masters of the World” on the same dung heap!
