Growing Chorus Implores Biden to Fire Trump Holdovers Who Support 'Dismantling and Cutting' Social Security

Wanting to cut SS for years, this one is going to be a tough call for Joe, and it’s a good thing that this is being framed as anti-worker, that might make it unacceptable to Biden. Otherwise, just “reducing benefits” might allow these two to keep their posts.

Biden fought to put a Social Security gutter in at OMB in Neera Tanden, so why would he be in any hurry to get rid of the ones already there?

Social Security belongs to the American people. Of course, in America, there does not appear to be a crime entitled “Destruction of the Property of the American People.” These days, that’s more likely to be the motto printed below Reagan’s face on the currency.

Yet, it can also be said that the Social Security Administration is Government Property. And, there are crimes on the books for Destruction of Property of the Federal Government. After all, we’ve seen people charged for this for spray-painting a Federal Courthouse in protest. Surely, destruction of the Social Security Administration is grounds for dismissal of a government official who has been entrusted with caring for it.

The big problem is in the headline. After all, Joe Biden has long been in favor of dismantling and cutting Social Security. Or at least “privatizing” it, which of course would directly lead to the Wall Street banks dismantling and cutting Social Security for their profit.

“Fire”, “remove from office” ???

How about Biden’s DOJ launching Nuremberg scale investigations, indictments, and trials to bring Trump, his appointees, and other enablers to justice ASAP ?

If Biden fails to impact the GOP’s half century unpunished crime spree, losing Social Security will be the least of our concerns as the GOP becomes more powerful than ever, consigning the Democratic Party and US democracy itself to the dust bin of history.

Candidates create a mandate for their actions in the way they campaign. For example, in 1932, FDR laid his “New Deal” plan out to the people at his DNC acceptance speech, and the Democrats ran on it. Thus, after they won the election, they had a clear mandate to implement the New Deal, which they quickly did creating the idea of a President’s “100 days.”

Joe Biden ran entirely on saying that “Donald Trump was awful”. Thus, the one thing Biden clearly has a mandate to do is to reverse everything Trump did. Biden ran on reversing Trump, so he had the mandate to fire Trump officials and reverse Trump policies. Instead of this dribbling out of half-measure executive orders, he could have simply said he was doing this in a Big statement (Biden likes the word Big) on Day One.

The one thing Joe Biden has a mandate to do is to fire every Trump official and to reverse every Trump policy. I find it very interesting to notice the cases where he is not doing this.

Yet another group of voters who supported Biden now being kicked in the teeth. There was a noticeable trend among Social Security recipients away from their traditional Republican voting pattern to support Biden. So, like minimum wage workers and indebted college graduates, Biden of course has to kick Social Security voters in the teeth and make sure they know that voting Democrat was a huge mistake.

After all, Biden won in such an enormous landslide that he can afford to piss off everyone who voted for him.

After four years of Obstruction of Justice and Stonewalling against constitutionally mandated congressional oversight, we need a massive investigation just to dig back into the Trump administration to even begin to understand the magnitude of the crimes.

And yet, Uncle Joe, friend of the Republicans, is already apparently signalling that he wants to “look forward, not back” in the search for “unity.”

Bush/Cheney was worse than Reagan/Bush, after Clinton/Gore refused to prosecute their crimes. Trump/Pence was worse than Bush/Cheney after Obama/Biden refused to prosecute their crimes. More Democrat appeasement of Republican crimes means that the next Republican administration will be worse than Trump/Pence. After all, they will clearly see that Trump/Pence got away with it.

Not to mention Bill Clinton’s POTUS stint being tantamount to the Raygun/Bush regime’s fourth and fifth terms, and Obama’s stint being tantamount to the Dubya regime’s third and fourth terms.

Actually, that might be exactly the wrong approach to the man once known as “The Senator from MasterCard” who famously shafted workers in favor of the banks in Biden’s Bankruptcy Bill.

Now, if this could somehow be framed as being ‘anti-bank’, then you might have a winning Joe’s heart and mind.

Since they now work for Joe Biden, at some point we will have to start referring to these same people as “Biden appointees.”

Sucks to have a president, when society is breaking down thanks to the types of policies that president supported and thanks to the corruption that president has long been guilty of, having to be implored to do obvious things that need to be done. People here can say what they want about Bernie, some of it warranted, but we wouldn’t have to waste time pushing him to do stuff like this.

It took trump many months to dump all of the honest people he could. Perhaps longer. It helps if you have vetted people for replacements.
Why the animus for Biden as long as he is moving along in steady fashion.
Your accusations are over the top and show a sense of hatred, not concern.

So far so good. Steadily replacing, but it will never be fast enough for some, no matter the hurdles.

True, but since being “appointed” to the presidency he is trying to appear to be pro-worker.

Any agency of the government that has massive support like the USPS and SSA must be undermined a little at a time so that it can be dismantled and divided up among the 1%. Massive dissatisfaction must be created. That has been the neoliberal strategy from day one. If the SSA is treating people unfairly that creates dissatisfaction. If USPS is doing a poor job that creates dissatisfaction. Trump like Reagan was not smart enough to engineer everything that he did on his own. There were well established think tanks, thinking tanks, that provided the game plan and their representatives got posts in the government to carry them out. Unfortunately the same neoliberal psychopaths are influencing Biden’s administration as they influenced Obama and Clinton.
Democracy requires eternal vigilance.

Unfortunately, it would appear so.

Enter AntiSandman.

FDR had no plan for the New Deal he just named it during his acceptance speech. He, his cabinet and Congress pretty much winged it. Though Francis Perkins before accepting the position as Secretary of Labor had a list of priorities including Social Security and health insurance. I guess we should feel lucky we got SS. Remember that FDR, a member of a banking family whose intitial fortune was based on the opium trade, stated that his greatest achievement was saving capitalism.
