The problem has nothing at all to do with getting medicare for all, the problem is how do we eliminate 100 percent of the incumbents in the US government, in every branch and division, then getting healthcare will be effortless, without needing another reason. It will also mean addressing climate, population, public safety, division of wealth, election rigging, corporate greed, crime, and influence, eternal preemptive war, and every single other concern the highly corrupt, criminal, and dysfunctional crime syndicate, known as the USA fails to instantly resolve with ease.

The ruling basically states that for an employee to use the money put aside for their health care on something that offends the ‘morality’ and religious views of the employer is a valid reason to withhold the money spent on their health care. My question is: How different is that from the employer telling the employee what they can’t do with the money they get in their paycheck? Can the employee buy a pornographic magazine? or donate to the Church of Satan? eat meat on Friday? etc. Doesn’t seem like a big stretch to get to this from there.

When one’s religion deviates from the path between themself and whatever god(s) they worship it becomes problematic. Go pray in the closet as you were taught. Keep your religion out of your workers’ vaginas you authoritarian perverts.

Exactly. And what if the employer has moral objections to taking prescribed drugs, or getting treated for cancer, or [insert your medical condition here]?

This slope is so slippery, you’ll need a bobsled to navigate it. You’ll either die on the trip down, or die when you get to the bottom.

Hi WiseOwI:
Hmmm so employers— due to THEIR religious beliefs---- can control an employee’s body? Oh. but just the female body it appears. So----I guess men can’t have that operation for snipping the Iine to stop the sperm from making it into the female. ( I forget what that operation is caIIed…sorry----) BUT that would seem to be a form of birth control too! Hmmm I guess some employers should make that reproduction right iIIegaI for men too? HAVE employers DONE THAT YET? Otherwise, it seem to make procreation totalIy in the hands of men and churches —which makes WOMEN Less than citizens if men have freedoms for reproduction but women do not! HOW CAN THIS BE IegaI you MEN of the Supreme Court—oh make that men of THE SUBPRIME Court!!!

The slogan should be a BETTER Medicare for all.

Medicare at it is, has too high ‘co-payments’ and a variance in costs and benefits depending on which of the petty fiefdoms (state and county) of the so-called ‘United States’ that you live in.

Also for it to BE ‘universal’ there needs to be an amendment to the Constitution so as to SPECIFICALLY give the federal government the power to operate a national health benefits system.

Hi Adam:
BUT—isn’t this a First Amendment issue—and what does ,“separation of church and state” mean? When employers seem to own a person’s body—isn’t that sIavery?
And ----as this relates to religion…how does an employer ever have a right over another person’s body? What’s next–Iife in prison for a BJ----- and wiII 12 year oId boys be arrested over nocturnal emissions? Yeah arrest those parents for having Nature take its course. This country has gone controI crazy!

Oh no, we can’t do anything like that. The saintly Sir Barrack of Obama insisted that the employer based system we have is the closest thing to perfection that is possible and that millions of people would break down in tears if they didn’t have co-pays, deductibles, balance billing, and for profit healthcare. That system, now known as “Obamacare” is the holy grail and anybody who avers that any change is even slightly desirable is a socialist a communist, probably a terrorist and somebody who “hates America”. We cannot besmirch the legacy of this towering genius by adopting a flawed system like that jackbooted country known as Canada where millions of people swear allegence to Dear Leader Justin Trudeau! Oh I just shudder in fear when I contemplate what the enemies of this republic have in store for millions of smiling, contented Americans!

Or worse. What if an employer says they don’t believe in medicine at all, and therefore won’t offer any employee benefit at all.
Of course they may only hire men now. Who can’t get pregnant. Or refuse to hire blacks because they are the cursed descendants of Cain. Or not hire Jews because they killed Jesus.
Slippery slope

They’re busy adding the Hyde Amendment to the latest House appropriations bill, while feigning their outrage at it being included.

The first Amendment was part of the bill of rights to the US Constitution, but the whole constitution is irrelevant today. Congress cannot impeach. Elections are fixed and fraudulent, Private banks coin money instead of congress, presidents and judges make laws as often as congress, if not more often, Wars are declared by presidents and not the congress, Trade agreements, federal and local laws take precedence over constitutional law, people are imprisoned for life without any charges filed, cruel and unusual punishment is the norm, (waterboarding, and decade after decade of solitaire confinement), assassination by drone attack is a daily occurrence, people are not secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, slavery has been expanded to all working persons. The constitution is a sham, there hasn’t been any constitutional law at all in this country for well over half a century, so no its not a Constitutional thing, we are way past that now. There is no written policy that governs this country, it is governed at the whim of organized crime and tyrants and the written law is a sham, a cover story they tell us to make fools think they are governed by principles instead of by pirates.

Yesterday, medicare refused to provide me a new prescription from the physician that replaces the current one due to bad side effects. I was told at the pharmacy that I have to use up all of the current material before I can get the lesser side effects expected with the new medicine.

I am certain that millions get this every year.
The current supreme court ruling effects approx 126,000 ladies.
Planned Parent Hood should be able to provide.

Hi BigB.
Thank you for the right word. ! : ) And based on Your life experience, how sad and unfair if an empIoyer denies any employee, maIe or female to make their own life decisions.

Exactly,
A Christian Scientist, or Jehovah Witness, or some other bizarre cult. How will this be delineated based on arbitrary ‘beliefs’?
So SCOTUS, what constitutes a Religion?

I think you are confused. The ruling Little Sisters vs Pennsylvania permits the administration to exempt religious employers from adhering to provisions of the ACA with respect to birth control. A Biden administration could reverse these exemptions. The problem is what the Court also teed up: non-delegation doctrine. In short, non-delegation doctrine limits Congress’s ability to delegate to agencies regulatory powers, especially ones deemed broad by the Court. And that’s why Bernie and Khanna are missing the forest through the trees in this article. In his opinion, Thomas laid out exactly how he’d wreck M4A, much less the ACA itself. If the Court attacks Congress’s ability to delegate, then they severely limit Congress’s ability to enact new programs, and preserve old ones, whether or not they are employer connected or independent.

Christians---- you need to read your bibles more closely and not turn a blind eye to all the horrible things condoned , commanded and committed by your " loving and forgiving God " . The god of the old testament is probably the most unpleasant character in all fiction as demonstrated in Dan Barker’s book “God the most unpleasant character in all fiction” . John 14:9 clearly states that Jesus and the father are the same. (“Whoever has seen me has seen the father” ) .To be as succinct as possible ,you cannot use your religion to regulate birth control or to stop or regulate abortion ,because your God is clearly and positively guilty of committing ,commanding ,and condoning both as well as many other atrocities. Who do you think is responsible for the state of things concerning birth control and abortion and many other social focal points currently in the news. Certainly not the atheists. Sort of like the pot calling the kettle black if you ask me. Religion is at the root of most of the world’s problems

Hi Adam:
sigh—depressing news, but as for Living in the 21st century, life has seemed to be a fraud of a democracy------- the 2 running for president won’t change a thing. Maybe there might be VPs with brains this time?
