Three months after President Donald Trump proposed penalizing immigrants for using public assistance programs, families appear to have received his message loud and clear—likely risking the health of young immigrant children across the country.

This is disgusting. It’s bad enough out healthcare system is in shambles, now the few crumbs offered to the public, are being “eaten” by the rats.

The WIC program has been shown to reduce nutrition related health risks among infants and children. With decreased WIC participation, we’ve been seeing increases in premature births in the US. Also, a lot of people, especially republicans, don’t realize that Richard Nixon started the WIC program. How does that look on today’s republican mantra of smaller govt? Republicans these days are so full of it. They don’t even know their own history.

The last chart I saw had the US 37th in infant mortality out of 40 industrialized nations. Everything you’ve posted is true. Repugs today don’t care what someone like Nixon did, in todays political climate, Nixon would be considered liberal.
