'He's a Hypocrite': Broward County Official Slams Trump Ahead of Visit to Site of School Massacre

Julia Conley, staff writer

The vice mayor of Broward County, Florida added his voice to the growing criticism of President Donald Trump ahead of the president's planned visit to the area on Friday, accusing Trump of "hypocrisy."

Trump is expected to visit the town of Parkland, where 17 people were killed and 14 were injured in a shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Wednesday.

Time to turn the heat way up on every single person taking bribes from the N.R.A.

I with you!

Time to start holding gun manufacturers and the NRA criminally liable.

Why all this talk of the mass murderer being “mentally ill”. The guy is practically being handled with kid-gloves. Had the disturbed killer been from the middle east, he would have been called a “Islamic terrorist” with no talk at all about his mental state. Had he been a black man (although black men don’t seem to ever commit mass murders), he would have be called a “rabid ape” or other such racist shit, with no talk of his mental state. Had he had left-wing political sympathies, all the talk would have been about he being a “Marxist political extremist”.

But no, he was just a typical Trumpian, woman abusing, gun loving, “make America great again” hat wearing psychopathic good-old-boy who, like many of them do, like to make violent threats - just like Trump himself. So it becomes all about “mental illness”…

If the shooter had been either Black or from the Middle East, he would not have been taken alive. And the mental health line is all about changing the context and, once again, making the sorry old argument that “guns don’t kill people, blah, blah, blah.” When, oh, when will we finally get the laws and enforcement that so many Americans want but that we can’t get because I freaking congress is bought and paid for to represent the NRA.

The longer we allow to remain in power a government that has no respect for our children or “their” children the slaughter will continue. All these smarmy “condolences” from political leaders makes me want to puke. Slaughter by AR-15 in this country is how different than slaughter (of children) by drones in “their” countries???
We are a disgrace.

Disarm the oligarchy first. No one that dangerous should be trusted with weaponry, particularly nukes.

Direct Democracy

If Trump has reversed a decision banning mentally ill people from owning guns, would it be safe to assume a riotous, unseemly unification of mammon crazed mentally ill people have now somehow taken control of America…

Well, I guess they had to make it easier/legal for severely mentally ill people to have weapons at their disposal since our severely mentally ill child in chief now has the entire military at his disposal. Fair is fair, right?

This constant response of “if someone wants to shoot up a place, they are going to find a way to do it, so stricter gun laws aren’t going to matter” is 100% BULLSHIT.

Making assault weapons harder to acquire is not going to deter ALL mass-shooters. Nothing can ever do that. Just like making pot illegal doesn’t stop people from smoking pot. But it does make it HARDER to acquire them, and that will deter SOME - not ALL - but SOME fucktwits from going through the hassle and expense, and thus preventing SOME - not ALL - mass shootings.

SO - if it prevents SOME mass shootings and saves SOME lives, isn’t that worth it??? I’m so sick of that tired argument of Rubio’s. By that same logic, then why do we have laws against drugs? Or murder? Or theft? Or rape? or ANYTHING?? We know the laws aren’t going to stop those crimes from happening altogether. But they REDUCE the number of them, by acting as a deterrent. If there were no laws against any of those things, the murder/rape/theft rates would skyrocket.

Bring out some other lame-ass excuse, Rubio, that one holds no water.

Accurate logic… and no doubt would be effective to some degree. How hard should it be to bring it about? We probably have about a snowballs chance in hell presently. But if the people’s voice remains loud enough to cause certain people to think their asses might be on the line…

Hypocrite? That’s a euphemism. How about corrupt?

The hypocrisy and general disdain the GOP has for everyone has finally, through their arrogance, become so obvious, that even formally “red” districts, counties and state legislatures are turning “blue”. A change is coming; let’s make sure it’s complete and long lived.

NRA bribed these the most

congressmen and women who receive the most financial funding from the NRA. Here’s the list with each Republican:

Sen. John McCain (R-AR) $7,740,521

Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) $6,986,620

Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) $4,551,146

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) $4,418,012

Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) $3,879,064

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FLA) $3,303,355

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) $3,124,273

Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) $3,061,941

Sen. Todd Young (R-IN) $2,896,732

Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) $2,861,047

Rep. French Hill (R-AR) $1,089,477

Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO) $800,544

Rep. David Young (R-IA) $707,662

Rep. Mike Simpson (R-ID) $385,731

Rep. Greg Gianforte (R-MT) $344,630

Rep. Don Young (R-AK) $245,720

Rep. Lloyd Smucker (R-PA) $221,736

Rep. Bruce Poliquin (R-ME) $201,398

Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) $158,111

Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA) $137,232

These are the numbers that can be reported. The NRA uses all kinds of dark money to get these candidates tons of “help.” In the end, as you watch the above politicians opine about “tragedy” just remember, the cost to buy their souls wasn’t thatmuch in the scheme of things.

and just how many students went to school on thursday with the thoughts rolling around in their heads…what if it happened here. not only is the NRA spending millions of dollars, they are going about destroying an entire generations mental state. no, banning guns will not be lost on the morons. anyone who thinks that is old school. it it time to talk about it, they pushed one too many on the american people, thinking we will go gently into the night.

This point was made on Democracy Now! this morning.
You have to wonder if the FBI would have paid more attention to him if his last name was something common in middle east countries.
As reported on D.N., the police were called out to his house 39 times for domestic problems, his neighbor has films of him shooting a gun in his backyard. He was known through the neighborhood as someone who enjoyed killing people’s pets. He’s shown on some social media saying he wants to be a professional school shooter.
Yet at the age of 19 he’s allowed to by an AK15, no questions asked.
And all the republican led congress can do is offer a moment of silence, but now is not the time to talk about gun violence.

It is impossible to control crazy. People for uncountable reasons lose all connection with reality and are a danger to themselves and others. It can happen over a long period of time or almost immediately, it is simply uncontrollable. But, we can control and regulate firearms in a such a manner that those who wish to own one or more are limited in the type available and, furthermore, screened to hopefully keep these very dangerous toys out of the hands of those who might hurt others. It is simply a question of overcoming the insane greed of the manufacturers and their representatives in Congress. Not easy as ultimately it is the same problem the American public has faced for decades - practically unlimited corporate rule. It is destroying this country.

Thank you Vice Mayor Mark Bogen(never heard of a Vice Mayor), We need more persons of authority like you speaking out against this vile cretin that calls himself a president. The US is being held hostage to a few macho idiots that are in love with their assault rifles.
