Homeland Security Must Stop Using Private Prisons for Immigration Detention. Here’s How to Do It.

This August, the Justice Department made history when it announced that the Bureau of Prisons would curtail — and eventually end — its use of private prisons. As the Justice Department noted, this change was made possible by criminal justice reforms that reduced its prison population.

Guantanamo needs to remain operational to house the DC politicians after they are brought to justice.

Part of the Raygun Revolution three decades ago was creating a prison industrial complex (PIC), a cousin of the military industrial complex {MIC). Uncle Wall Street keeps PIC and MIC well represented on K Street to make sure Congress gives them everything they want and then some.

There should be no reason whatsoever for someone to be detained on immigration charges more than 24-48 hours. You should be able to produce some kind of document that shows legal residency within that time frame.
