Tx,
I actually have that one bookmarked.
Always good to share it here though - many of the kids don’t know about it

I’m old enough to remember the League of Women Voters moderating the debates. The questioners were rarely questioned on why they chose the questions they did because they were relatively unbiased. Now we get a parade of empty talkers (besides the candidates themselves) interrupting Bernie and trying to tow the corporate line. Do they realize how stupid they look?
The moderators questions were terrible and haphazard and they went on to a new question before all had a chance to weigh in. It was no surprise that climate change was not included. The corporate media should not be in charge.
They’re starting to, and I’m tickled pink.
There’s a whole lot of coastal lowlands in South Carolina. Because the the NA east coast tectonically subsides over time, Charleston happens to be one of Earth’s superfund sites for sea-level rise (were there such a thing), along with Bangladesh and South Florida.
The DNC and the Democratic establishment are responsible for the chaotic nature of last night’s debate.
CBS allowing multiple candidates to talk over Bernie and each other preventing viewers to hear the candidate’s response to questions asked, as well as moderators allowing interruptions and the panel of 7 candidates throwing their hands in the air like a bunch of 2nd graders.
This was not a debate, this was a debacle.
The DNC allowed an oligarch to buy his way on stage (although he has done nothing but harm himself since), made it impossible for working people to attend, filled the audience with rich people (or plants), decided to have all of their debates on networks owned by giant corporations and all of the moderators were rich people asking out of touch rich questions, on a network that played long commercials for one of the candidates in the debates. That party should be ashamed of itself. What a horrible and pathetic showing, and what bad optics when this country is in this shape thanks to these rich assholes. Booing against Bernie for pointing out that Bloomberg is an oligarch? Booing Warren for bringing up the NDAs? Come the hell on.
Unfortunately the DNC has no shame and needs to be burnt to the ground.
Not too much different from the Nazi Party in Fascist, Germany. From my perspective, the Republican Party is now the Amerikan, Fascist Party.
Very true.
Thanks. It is important to confront these people and to not run away from discussions on Cuba. Bernie cannot have an honest and nuanced discussion, for obvious reasons, and there are objectively good reasons to critique Cuba and the government as well. Bernie has done that. But, there are objectively very laudable things about Cuba, most developing countries say as much, and running from what it has been able to accomplish is absurd. It benefits the right for us to run from Cuba, because it does in fact blow up lots of their propaganda. I would love to site down with any of those moderators with the cameras running and discuss these things. It would be obvious that they have little more than propaganda, cause some of the critiques they would have, most on the left would agree. And they are silent anyway about countries on the right with far worse human rights records, and many of those countries do not have decent healthcare and educational systems.
In regards to Bernie, people again don’t want to think, or don’t want others to think. In the 80’s, what was happening in the region? The US was supporting the terrorists (accurate term, ask the ICC) Contras, Arena in El Salvador, Ríos Montt (who has been found guilty of genocide and crimes against humanity), among others. Reagan lauded Montt in particular. So, when a government on the left came to power that prioritized education, food support, healthcare, yeah, it was something people on the left supported. What did Reagan do? As Chomsky pointed out, it essentially went to war against the church in Latin America, because of it supporting the preferential option of the poor. The far right in El Salvador assassinated Romero while he was giving a sermon, and then the military that the US was supporting mowed people down in the streets when they were attending his funeral services. There are videos of that slaughter on YouTube. A professor of mine in graduate school was tortured because he was trying to defend the poor in South America. But, somehow Bernie is the person that has something to defend. It is just stupid, ignorant, mindless bullshit.
Enough with the first grade approach with raising hands. It taints the demeanor of the debate.
How about a question, then one minute to answer, giving each a chance to answer. No interruptions or you lose your minute.
They’re getting paid to not care about that.
“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.”

Cuba was impoverished by 50 years of US sanctions. The Cuban people pulled together and have the most successful agriculture system on the planet. They keep cars running for 70 years.
I have National Teacher Award winning friends who spent 2 weeks in Cuba during Obomber’s Administration and were extremely impressed by the educational standards and inclusiveness and loving nature of the people in Cuba.
Plus Michael Moore in his movie “Sicko” (2007) demonstrated Cuba’s quality of healthcare for the most efficient and cost-effective system in the world by taking 9/11 NYC firefighters very ill from inhaling the poisonous debris and no longer able to afford their Healthcare, to Cuba for effective treatment and drugs to bring home to NYC at minimal cost to continue their care. “Sicko” detailed the American Healthcare crisis and why millions of Americans have no access to the health care they need. Healthcare is not health insurance.
The millions of dollars worth of lies in ads about Medicare-for-all collapse this distinction between access to actual health CARE and coverage by profiteering health insurance companies. All the people I know old enough to get Medicare celebrate losing their health insurance company!
Welcome to the information Wars. The last gasps of the US Empire strangling its citizens and the world.
With the likes of Norah O’Donnel and Gayle King did anyone expect otherwise?
This was a DNC feature- not a bug.
Chris Matthews’ face is too red with anger and frustration (@$5 million annual salary) to be their sloganeer for “better dead than red.” Maybe that’s why his reports on his own inner life devolve into fantasy nightmares of a Bernie win having the same impact on himself and the nation–since he speaks for the whole US, don’t cha know–as Hitler’s forces crossing the Maginot Line into 1940 France, and his confusion over being killed in Central Park–by Bernie Bros. Ignoring women completely. As usual. Really, Chris??
Maybe but who will be left in an audience?
Well said: not a debate, a debacle!
Almost as if by design, eh?
