House Passes 20-Week Abortion Ban With Exciting New Hassles for Rape Victims

Amanda Marcotte

Back in January, a handful of Republican women in Congress stopped a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks. The women, led by Rep. Renee Ellmers, didn't object to the ban, but were worried that it was unduly hard on rape victims, forcing them to produce a police report in order not to bear a rapist's child.

So these compassionate "lawmakers" pretend to care about the rights and pain of a 20 week fetus, yet care not at all for women, for rape victims, for young people sent off to illegal wars, for all the people killed by "us" in so many countries far away, including women, even pregnant women, and children of all ages as "we fight for OUR freedom".

Men asserting control l over the female body is what this amounts to.

A Greek Playwright wrote a tragedy on the slaying of Agamemnon By Clytemnestra. Agamemnon had sacrificed the daughter of Clytemnestra to the Gods so as to gain favor in the Trojan war and the play revolved around determining guilt and whether she had the right of vengeance.

It was concluded by the Jury that the woman's womb is merely an extension of the male and is in fact his property. It just happens to be housed inside the body of a woman so while Agamemnon had the right to sacrifice Iphigenia as she was little more then his "property" , Clytemnestra committed a grave sin when she murdered him in turn.

This patriarchal crap goes back a long ways.
