How Labor and Climate United Can Trump Trump

Jeremy Brecher

Donald Trump and his congressional Republican allies have taken control of the U.S. government. The result threatens to be devastating for both labor and the climate — not to mention immigrants, African Americans, Muslims, women, children, the elderly, the disabled, LGBTQ people, and many others.

The problem that I see in being united is that the climate movement will be focusing at the state and local level where in many cases things can get done. I would say any working together between climate activists and labor will be most effective at the state level at least for next two years. At the federal level climate activists and labor should join together to resist.

Whether labor and Climate can beat a rising Dow Jones due to Rump's deregulation and tax breaks is a tossup.

I agree! Our state (MA) is number 1 in use of clean energy.

Climate change or global warming is here NOW. It's not about a game with the rising DOW.
