Decrying "an inherently unlawful and abusive system that violates the rights of Palestinians," Human Rights Watch (HRW) on Tuesday called for all businesses to stop operating in and dealing directly with Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem.
HRW, in its reporting, typically treads very carefully when approaching the toes of the USA.
For HRW to have worked through to the point of stepping on those toes, is significant.
I understand HRW's reasoning, but few companies "do the right thing" unless it threatens their public image. Consumers are going to have to be called into action.
It worked on South Africa, it is working on Israel.
Your rant against Palestinians is fraught with exaggerations and let's try to stick to the present...not 722...if we hope to accomplish any positive dialogue. Tragically, it seems the Jews in Israel have learned little from the horrors of the Holocaust. Equally tragic is man's propensity to repeat horrific behavior; to seek revenge and not healing and peaceful coexistence. Ask yourself, please, Why do Jews stimulate such enmity upon themselves?
Adelson will surely have something to say about this as will former Senator Lieberman...both big financial supporters of Israeli settlement expansion. Hey, maybe they can file a claim along the lines of the Citizens' United ruling...their right to freedom of speech being vaclemped....
The Palestinians will stop engaging in self-defense ("terror" as you call it) when the Israelis stop their racist land-robbing and ethnic cleansing.
Boycott! https://boycottisraeltoday.wordpress.com/boycott-israel/ Many cosmetics are made in Israel; L'oreal, Estee Lauder, Revlon, complete list at link.
Funny, I can't bring to mind any terrorism in the Middle East until the invasion by the refugees from Europe.
Wow, a modern day Rip Van Winkle...!
