ICE Reportedly Using 'Guantanamo Bay-Style' Nasal Tubes to Force Feed Migrants on Hunger Strike

Jake Johnson, staff writer

Employing what one critic described as "Guantanamo Bay style" abuse, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials are reportedly using plastic nasal tubes to force-feed at least six detained migrants who have been on a prolonged hunger strike to protest widespread abuses at an El Paso, Texas prison.

Terrorist Tactics of the Trump Administration will be a part of the legacy of the far right Republican Party Establishment for centuries to come.

It does make us wonder if refugees here are being treated as refugees, or prisoners.
Nothing like feeling unwelcome in your space.

The treatment of these immigrants is in obvious violation of multiple clauses in the US Constitution. The US government is (presumably) still using the.same reasoning used to justify mass murder: only members of its tribe are actually people, the remainder are not human.

The lack of respect for the personal dignity of individuals is a very idiosyncratic aspect of the American culture. This lack of respect is also an indicator of how much a culture degrades when it is severed from its roots, in this case the roots being the British culture.
Bobby Sands, the great Irish patriot, died from a hunger strike in 1981 and the British police respected his dignity by not force-feeding him. Force feeding prisoners on hunger strike is the ultimate form of humiliation, a very American thing to do. It brings to mind the treatment of North-Vietnamese soldiers at the hands of their American tormentors, who lined them up on the road to be run over by tanks or dropped them from helicopters.

From ice.com: “ICE 's primary mission is to promote homeland security and public safety through the criminal and civil enforcement of federal laws governing border control, customs, trade and immigration.”

Under the Trump administration, Immigration and Customs Enforcement has morphed into Adolf Hitler’s Schutztaffel (SS), which was ultimately charged with rounding up “undesirables” (primarily Jews), transporting them to concentration camps where family units were separated and where they were starved, beaten, employed as slave labor, and ultimately executed. ICE is currently involved in roundups of “undesirables” (primarily Hispanics), transporting them to concentration camps where family units are separated and where they are housed in cages, starved, and otherwise mistreated. All that is missing is the slave labor and executions (although many have died in custody due to neglect or mistreatment). But, give them time and the reelection of Donald Trump to the Oval Office.

I do not advocate the abolition of ICE; it’s original mission is vital to our security. But Congressional oversight of their operations is definitely in order. They are treating the target population like animals. Their brutality is unchecked by any executive branch overseers, almost encouraged.

This is not My America.
