Is Anyone Left at Goldman Sachs? Trump Picks Another Alum for Treasury Deputy

Deirdre Fulton, staff writer

President Donald Trump has selected yet another Goldman Sachs executive to fill a senior role in his administration, naming the firm's current managing director, James Donovan, to serve as deputy Treasury secretary.

Donovan would be the sixth member of Trump's team with ties to Goldman, which was once described as "a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money."

Trump was right! He is acting very presidential! Precedential, too!

The emperor has no clothes, but it just doesn't matter. Psychology is at work here. Hard core Trump supporters will never change their minds, unless the culture around them completely reforms. And even then, they're likely to hold onto their beliefs despite all evidence to the contrary; they'll just go back into their anti-democracy hidey-holes.

The good news is that it only takes 50.1% of the electorate to turn things around. When the non-violent democracy movement grows to include just 3.5% (around 11 million) of the people acting in non-cooperation, it is likely to succeed in its demands. Trump is the perfect tool to help us reach those numbers; there are probably a few million of us already, and that number grows daily.

These appointments by Trump are not only broken campaign promises; they represent fascism writ large. I suspect that similar appointments would have been made by Clinton; the pair of them troll the same elite circles. We the People were going to get screwed by the last election either way. It's just that the GOP is much more aggressive. Trump is not doing this stuff alone.

50.1% of the electorate IF enough of them are in the right states to make the electoral count congruent with the popular vote.

Donovan's résumé fits the profile preferred for prospective cabinet officials set out by Cohn, Bannon, Kushner, and the demented dimwit: Despicable - check; Greedy - check; Criminal - check; Liar - check; Self-Aggrandizing - check; Loathsome - check; Elitist - check; Parasitic - check. Better start construction on the temple next to the WH soon...or turn Lincolns' bedroom into a mini-temple.

In the interests of energy conservation, would the last person leaving Goldman Sachs for their new gig fleecing the people from INSIDE the White House, PLEASE turn off the lights! (That way it won't
stand out so much, either, in the darkness enveloping America)

"Donovan must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate." Prediction: He will be confirmed after "grueling" questions.
