It is tragically ironic that the U.S.-backed leadership in Honduras is the one directly linked to drug smuggling, repression and violence.
This is so much more thorough and accurate reporting than the article on the “News” page. Exactly why is the headline framed as a question?
Viva Berta Caceres!
Tell you members of Congress to help oversee the vote count http://www.lawg.org/action-center/97-advancing-human-rights-in-central-america/1952-stand-with-hondurans-as-they-seek-to-determine-their-future
This has been going on for so many years. From torture instructions via the School of the School of the Americas at Fort Benning, to regime changes. The US citizens are getting payback and are getting screwed just as the US has screwed other nations and created regime changes and the US population did nothing and allowed corporations to take over our government. Offshore, illegal prisons are still going on today. And people support the Repubs and crooked Dems? Unbelievable. The US Gov has always been involved in drugs…Hoover brought in drugs to “control” the Black Panthers. Who protested? Payback time.
With due respect, the U.S. Korporate Kongress should stay out of the rest of the Americas on any level. Their record in this hemisphere is universally disastrous for the peoples of the Americas…including the U.S.
Honest global electoral monitoring is called for, but Norte Americanos (i.e. gringos) need to straighten out our own corrupt elections first.
Right now they are asking for help supervising the vote count. Otherwise I am in complete agreement with you .
