Isn’t It Ironic?: Koch-Backed Group Rails Against Corrupting Influence of Money in Politics

Brendan Fischer

After spending countless millions fighting to protect unlimited secret money in elections, the Koch political network has adopted a surprising new approach: railing against the corrupting influence of money in politics.

New ads from the Koch-backed Freedom Partners Action Fund attack Democratic U.S. Senate candidates in Nevada and Virginia for allegedly supporting policies that benefited their campaign supporters, even as the Koch network fights to keep campaign spending secret.

For years Wisconsin has been the test market for Koch style fascism, with Paul Ryan and Scott Walker being their greatest fascist success stories. Pushing Feingold out of the Senate was a major Koch victory so its no surprise he will be one of heir biggest targets between now and November.

Ironic? More like smoke and mirrors. I think there's a term to be coined here for describing political groups/politicians attempting to ride this wave of voter discontent when they are actually a contributor to it like how "green washing" is used to describe corporations who attempt to portray themselves as green when they aren't and never were. Perhaps "populist washing"? idk.

The corrupt corrupting the corrupted campaign financing consortiums with the blessings of SCOTUS (Roberts, Alito, St. Scalia, Thomas, and Kennedy to be exact) a la Citizens United. And the Koch (short "o" and hard C) brothers are the lowest of the low when it comes to throwing money at any and all elections from local to national; creating so-called "think tanks" like ALEC, David Koch’s Americans for Prosperity Foundation, FreedomWorks, Grover Norquist’s Americans for Tax Reform, the Cato Institute and The Heritage Foundation; at state legislators who will introduce the ALEC bills to state house floors. Read more about the Koch (short "o" and hard C) "think tank" creation and funding at: http://www.politico.com/story/2013/11/koch-brothers-think-tank-report-099791

Senator Sanders has an excellent synopsis of what the K Bros want: http://www.sanders.senate.gov/koch-brothers

The KB cabal is cut from the same cloth as Trump...narcissists, demonic, self-aggrandizing, nefarious, and downright evil. None are burdened with the weight of consciences or the existence of souls.
