Israel’s Blockade of Gaza is Inherently Violent

Mike Merryman-Lotze

Since seizing power in 2007, Hamas has worked to control and limit violence from the territory. Outside of periods of defined military escalation — which tend to be precipitated by Israeli attacks — they have effectively stopped attacks against Israel from Gaza.

This explains why, as noted by the Israeli press, there were only 14 rockets fired from Gaza towards Israel between January and August this year. None were fired by Hamas, so Israel’s decision to target Hamas as a response makes no sense.

Hamas did not "seize power", they were lawfully elected in an election with more integrity than the average US election.

Jews of Israel (I'm excluding the Palestinians living in Israel) are only trying to defend themselves from the people they have conquered and whose land and resources they are therefore entitled to take for themselves. The Jews have a perfect right to subjugate and kill Palestinians who do or might resist.

Palestinians need to accept that they are conquered and surrender to Israel peaceably whatever it wants to take. That way, we could all get along.

Our political leaders have been well educated to understand this.

The presentations Clinton and Trump made to AIPAC during the primaries, assuring them the full support and financial aid from the US, confirms that "our political leaders have been well understand this".

Vote Green to cut off the money pipeline from US taxpayers to AIPAC.

What a sad situation without an end in sight!

I'm curious, is Egypt's blockade of Gaza also inherently violent?
Why won't Egypt let the Gazans have cement and materials to build homes?
Would an organization be allowed to go in and build homes without giving supplies to Hamas?

Mike Merryman-Lotze is inherently stupid. First, he gets this fact wrong: "Since seizing power in 2007, Hamas..." Hamas, pledging to destroy the State of Israel, was voted into power in a UN-monitored election. The Palestinians chose these monsters of their own volition. Mike's idiotic completion of the sentence: "Hamas has worked to control and limit violence from the territory." Hamas has done no such thing, even the notion is ridiculous, so Mike is clearly an Arab-loving or Jew-hating twit. Mike then makes up this ludicrous statistic, offering not even a link, let alone a credible reference: "there were only 14 rockets fired from Gaza towards Israel between January and August this year". No, if you go to, for example, www idfblog com / facts-figures / rocket-attacks-toward-israel, you will see that this year there have been no fewer than 450 rockets from Gaza. Little Mikey is apparently a liar and a dope, at the same time. Mikey, it's 2016... we have Google... we can easily check these things!
