Israel Wants to Turn Filming of Its Crimes Into a Crime

Richard Silverstein

In the aftermath of numerous tragic incidents in which Israeli human rights NGOs and Palestinian activists have documented the maiming and execution of Palestinian suspects by security forces, a ministerial committee has approved a new bill criminalising such filming. They did this despite the attorney-general criticising the bill for its extensive legal defects.

Nice try, but not gonna work, Zionist Fascists. As history has repeatedly shown, you can try and try and try to cover up the truth, but it always - ALWAYS - gets out. In fact, the harder you try to cover it up, the more it will bite you in the ass, in the end.

You Zionist Nazis really should look back on your own history to realize this. The German Nazis tried to cover up their genocide against the Jews, by camouflaging the camps to look like work camps, the gas rooms to look like “showers,” using huge mass graves in the woods to hide the bodies of the murdered, etc. Didn’t help a bit. The truth got out, and of course today you Zionist fucks keep using that past genocide to justify your own unlawful, evil genocide and apartheid against another minority group of people.

History really does repeat itself.

Israel truly does not deserve to exist, and does not have a right to exist on land STOLEN from Palestine. And what they really hope to accomplish is stealing the rest of it, and ejecting all Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank. It behooves every decent progressive to call for an end to ALL U. S. military and financial aid to Israel, as well as imposing a total and complete boycott and blockade of Israel from the rest of the World, and allow arms to get to the Palestinians.

#4

The Zionist apartheid entity that is called “Israel” is a criminal enterprise.

Outlawing the filming of crimes is happening in the US as well. “Ag Gag” bills have sprung up in several states. They penalize ‘whistle blowers’ and protect horrific animal abuse policies that are blatantly illegal! While I abhor Israeli tactics and oppression, it is no different from what the US Government does.

#6

Is that what was done here in Amerika? by the dark of night they passed a bill to criminalize the filming of our bombs dropping all over the world? Or is it just our lamestreet media lack of reporting or journalists know we are hated around the world and would be killed.

#7

Along with their US counter parts.

#8

I don’t dispute that one bit. UK/Euros fit in with the same profile of white supremacy, patriarchy and imperialism (now executed on behalf of capitalism). The history has been as consistent as it is ugly.

The all new Axis of Evil, Israel, Saudi Arabia, an the United States of America, are all coordinating their repressive laws.

#10

A Green Party Government would not cozy up to the Repressive Regime of Israel.

This is a Duopoly “Dumbass” decision that has cost our nation dearly.

#11

I’m with the Green Party, but I didn’t say that because I didn’t want to hear the “we’re nothing but spoilers” BS line from the Democratic bots and shills who troll here. But you are correct. We would try and cut off support for Israel, and we do support the BDS campaign.

#12

Dear PonyBoy, since Axis of Evil has already been used, I think that these 3 should be identified as the Assholes of Evil. Really, because all 3 were at the 2003 Axis party together.

Last year, Israel killed 89 Palestinians, most in the process of murdering innocent Israelis. If that’s genocide, then what’s 50,000 people killed in Syria last year?

In Israel, Jewish babies & Arab babies are born in the same delivery room & years later sit next to each other in university. That’s the opposite of apartheid.

#14

In 1929, Palestinians ethnically cleansed Hebron & Gaza of their Jews.
In 1948, Arabs ethnically cleansed the West Bank & East Jerusalem of their Jews. ZERO Jews were left in Gaza, the West Bank or East Jerusalem. Israel could have ethnically cleansed all the Arabs from Israel, but Israel didn’t. There are now 1.6 million Arabs living in Israel.

Khaled Abu Toameh, the journalist who reports for the Jerusalem Post, U.S. News & World Report and NBC News, put it: "Israel is a wonderful place to live … a free and open country.

Arab women in Israel live longer than Arab women in any Arab country.
Arab babies in Israel have lower infant mortality than Arab babies in any Arab country.

Hadassah University Medical Center in Israel established a registry for Arab donors of bone marrow and stem cells to facilitate life-saving transplants. The registry at Hadassah Hospital is the only one in the world for Arabs and will no doubt save the lives not only of Arab Israelis but also of some citizens of Arab countries, not a single one of which has a registry of its own.

BDS is racist because it treats Israelis as members of a group rather than as individuals.
BDS is collective punishment. BDS says: “I don’t care if you’re innocent or guilty, if you’re Israeli, I’m going to make you suffer.” 575,000 Iraqi children died from sanctions. BDS is immoral.

The 18 worst countries for human rights in 2017 were Syria, North Korea, South Sudan, Somalia, Central African Republic, Libya, Yemen, China, Burundi, DR Congo, Afghanistan, Burma, Pakistan, Lebanon, Mali, Nigeria, Ukraine & Mexico.

There’s BDS against Israel, but no BDS against the 18 worst. That’s not right!

Not rhetorical?

The 20th century business model so well described in Chomsky and Herman’s 1981 Manufacturing Consent further collapsed with the rise of online sources from about '94 and particularly 2-way discourse online around and after 2000.

Commercial media responded by getting more money and more deliberately supplied material from news sources eager to provide that to resolve their own public relations problems–this means corporations like Exxon, BP, and Monsanto (now Bayer); and government agencies and interests like the CIA, the DNC, and presumably the Republican Party as well.

This followed but then expanded on the model pioneered by CNN when they promised partial coverage in order to “embed” reporters with the US military in the so-called “Desert Storm” Gulf war.

We get more information, for the moment, because the online medium is so powerful and varied. But it takes a bit more to find it, and a lot of people do not bother.
