If your first sentence is directed at me then it needs to be pointed out that I never said that all equals most. You then say that:

" Vaccinated people are being led to believe they’re completely invulnerable. Never mind that they can still carry and transmit the virus. Never mind that they can also become sick."

I agree which is why I also wear a mask when I go inside a business lobby or shop at a grocery store even though I have been vaccinated. But that does not obviate what I had previously written when I tried to point out " that the overwhelming majority of people [about 97%] who have been recently hospitalized are those people who elected not to be vaccinated."

There is yet another inaccurate statement in this article, that carries water for the view point of its author.

As damaging as many of DeSantis’ decisions have been in Florida, it is not true that he is anti vaccine. Since the very start and up to this day he has promoted its value publicly. CD should retract all the inaccuracies in this article, as it risks not be taken seriously.

This article seems more like a simple partizan anti-rep article, rather than a balanced analysis of the situation. It is easy to blame and point fingers to individuals who do not know any better. But that’s why we have a government (controlled by the corporations). It is the government’s job to protect the population, rather than point fingers to a part of it. What exactly has our D government done? What has it left undone? What have other governments done exponentially better than ours? These are but a few of the points that the author should explore in a non partizan way.

Couldn’t agree more. Several statements smell of superficial propaganda, but also display very sloppy work in this article.

There is a long number of issues with the way the breakthrough cases are reported or not, and including the fact that CDC has not even rigorously been collecting that data, or the lack of specifics in how the immunity from vaccines fades over time, and so much more. Efficacy of the vaccines and it’s change over time has already vanished from public discourse in favor of sound bites and anecdotal reporting of breakthrough cases. The back and forth dance about wearing or not wearing masks for the vaccinated has plaid a role, as have many other politically motivated and calculated statements coming from the Biden admin. Why doesn’t this author delve in these, instead of blaming the most vulnerable victims of a ferocious manipulative system that uses them for its cynical benefits.

Agreed with all you’ve said.

It’s not just on CD where I’m hearing the misleading comments. Our Democratic* radio station is also repeating that the only people who are catching COVID are the unvaccinated. The only ones. In their world there are absolutely no break through cases.

*They claim the progressive label but are very much Vote blue, no matter who when push comes to shove.

This article is sarcasm and takes an unvarnished look at these issues, exactly right in that it is mostly partisan and no it is not balanced. It attempts to link cause and effect also. It is ironic because while most commentary has a element of truth it is still microscopic. Pretty challenging to to characterize a pandemic and reduce it to vaxx or no-vaxx (neither of those are homogeneous) This is a real struggle for political groups to grasp so you see how the information becomes pretty sketchy. It is ok if you read it as commentary. It is pretty one sided though. No offense to the the author is intended.

It goes back to the emergency authorizations that have been re-written and there is an issue how risk is accessed. It changes the statistics, no wonder people are having such a time with this information.

The irony in your comment is that the anti-vaxxers and anti-mask contingent are the ones who claim to be patriotic when they refuse to be vaccinated or wear a facial covering. Apparently their “freedom” [which more appropriately might be termed freedumb] means that they want the freedom to potentially infect other people with COVID-19. I remember seeing a bumper sticker on a vehicle after I had returned from Vietnam which proclaimed AMERICA LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT. I hardly think that that authoritarian message is the same as health professionals advising people to receive a vaccination which could save their life as well as other people.

Irony may be the wrong description. But it sure smells of it. Sadly it is more of a deja vu.
The trump and trumpsters have presented almost everything for the past four years as a bizarro world, upside down version of reality and truth.
They have been created in a mold trump constructed and don’t even realize it. Brainwashed or stupid. That is the question.

First off, democrats never get angry enough to make demands that have any teeth.
We are dealing with an attitude that has grown ugly with the advent of trump entering the political realm. Don’t mess with my guns, and don’t tell me to wear a mask or get vaccinated. Don’t tell me trump has lied to Americans thousands of times. The right-wing zealots are in a stupor.

i don’t trust this government either- but the part of the government i don’t trust has no more to do with my moderna vaccination than did it have with my polio vaccine when i was a child- if that’s what’s preventing someone from getting a vaccine that has proven itself to very possibly prevent an anguished death, than that’s a level of dopiness beyond belief

Yes because not having your trash picked up is exactly the same as having had your community used as guinea pigs without consent or knowledge.
