Time again for us “I told you so’s” to remind everyone that a wrong vote can have us regretting our vote. Elections have consequences. We don’t have to rehash why we have trump, we just have to do something about it. The trouble is not for the bankers, or the polluters, the rich or the corporate.
But rather than just supporting the right-wing causes, trump is destroying the country for everyone and everything else. And that doesn’t even get to the immorality and emotional stresses being unleashed.

Medicare Advantage? The only Advantage is the insurance and health care cabal. Over the next 10 weeks (Medicare Renewal Period), the peddlers of this scam will take up 80% of advertising space. Sounds good until one gets sick. By the time the scam is discovered, the trap is set. It is damn near impossible to get back to original Medicare.

Medicare Advantage is PRIVATE INSURANCE pay for out of Medicare funds, high co-payments, high deductibles and old folks meager SS. it is not Medicare. Getting rid of this parasite will bring billions of dollars to MC4ALL and provide much better health care.

As an American taxpayer, who starts Medicare in a few weeks, after going to one “information session”, I can only say that much of what Medicare involves is a collection of privately held scams, which claim to be of “assistance”, but are really just private, money-grubbing scavengers of the detritus of society, those of the group that can ill afford a $400.00 “emergency”. I’m a long-time FDR Democrat, and I despise what has become of a good program; an operation devoted to squeezing every nickel out of people who barely have a stack of nickels.

OK: this monster posing as human is systematically targeting his opposition, first Biden, now Bernie and Warren until the Democrats offer up their weakest candidate.

Propaganda works, dawg. It works quite well, especially in countries with poor education systems.

How much sense does it make to try to undo a successful medical package for seniors? A social program, well run, is to be unsocialized by trump? That goes beyond partisan, it is hate based. Or another attempt to let the money changers get a hold of our investment and denigrate it. Just absurd.

Trump is delusional, out of control, and dangerous. He is now reaching for the stars because he is in so deep, he is going “all or nothing”. Gambling with our futures.

It’s kind of funny, because the right wing, and centrist, dogma since at least Reagan has been that once government gets involved, it makes things worse. But, in reality, once capitalist interests get involved in delivering public services, those public services degrade. We see this with privatized utilities, which is why there is a growing movement towards remunicipalization of formerly privatized utilities in recent decades, this shows when things like pension systems are privatized, and you see it with things like the privatization of postal services in the EU. In Medicare, traditional Medicare has an overhead of about 2%. The overhead in the system is about 7%, still much lower than private insurance. But, why is the overhead overall in the system higher than traditional Medicare? Because traditional Medicare, which is what single payer would be built on, is far more efficient than the privatized portions of the system. In the British NHS, they have moved to privatize services, after the right there (like the right here with the VA) has pushed to starve the NHS for funds. What has happened? Administrative overhead (i.e. waste) has exploded, because you now introduce far more complexity into the system (which has to be managed) and you place inefficient private institutions at the center of the system. The right and most Democrats running for president have garbage healthcare plans, and Warren is simply not serious about single payer. There is Bernie alone, Warren in a distant second, and everyone else not only has far inferior plans that would still cost trillions more, still lock people into jobs, still treat healthcare as a commodity, and they all keep the chaotic, inefficient multi-payer system in place. And almost all of them are liars, people that not only pretended to support something they didn’t (single payer), but now use the language of single payer to hide their shitty plans. They also on the one hand pretend to be in favor of something that they then turn around and claim is unpopular with the public. If single payer is unpopular with the public, why pretend to favor something like it? Biden himself said he welcomed the debate with Bernie over single payer. But, what has he done since that began? Lie and gaslight people at every turn. He is such a horrible human being that he uses his dead son as propaganda in order to keep this deadly system in place. He can only take part in the debate by lying and gaslighting people, and he does so from the far right.

I am also done with the silly polls on single payer. Until a pollster asked pertinent questions on single payer and gives some needed data to people they are polling, those polls (like the polling on candidates) are largely just propaganda. Like, has a single pollster asked people they are polling if they would favor a system that saved the country trillions, individuals thousands, no more job lock, no more bankruptcies, more comprehensive coverage? No. They don’t inform those they are polling that single payer would almost certainly save them thousands. They don’t inform them that it would save the country trillions. They don’t inform them that the 45,000 Americans that will die per year will be saved, that there will be no more job lock, that the overpriced care they have will be replaced by one not tied to their job (which also strengthens them relative to their employers) and will be more comprehensive. If they did, who in the hell would object? And that is why they don’t inform those they are polling when asking them if they favor that system. If they were honest, the polls would not be to the liking of those doing the damn polls, or the rich pricks on TV that use those polls in propaganda.

Why would anyone support Biden? Why did Clinton get the nomination despite being so obviously flawed? Fact is, the media actively misleads people, so do those in charge of the parties, think tanks, and many people don’t have tons of formal education. They, as a result, put faith in those that do, and those people have utterly failed society. I think of many working people that vote against their interests as victims of the propaganda system in this country, not people to wag my finger at, like so many privileged Democrats. But, you don’t reach them unless you have actual solutions to society’s problems that would benefit them, you can explain those solutions, and they trust you. I think most of those running in this race will struggle with these things. Even those that have okay policies, often not great but okay, can they explain those (often overly complex) policies to people, can they come across as relatable to working people? No, almost all of them cannot. What we are faced with is not some grassroots uprising that will keep Trump in office. It is the Democrats again nominating a dud or a candidate that will struggle with these things, and a large share of the public just not voting. It isn’t as if Pelosi and Schumer want to actually democratize their party and the system, and have the system work for people it currently doesn’t. They just want to maintain their power and things as they are, and to do just enough with those that feel a stake in the system and vote to get a few more seats than the alternative.

Explain specifically why Hillary is “so flawed.” I’m honestly curious.

Are you serious? You come to a progressive site, three years after she lost to the most unpopular major party nominee in history, and you need me to explain this? She and her husband are guilty of massive corruption, going back decades. She backed a wide range of policies that, when her husband was president and when she was in office, that were disastrous in the long term. She was historically unpopular. If she ran against anyone but Trump, she would have been the most unpopular major party nominee in history. She is atrocious on foreign policy, hawkish in the extreme. She had to be forced to adopt somewhat progressive policies, even on the so called unity commission (which was a joke), and every time she and ghouls like Neera Tanden did any pushback, it was in a reactionary direction. They wanted to keep superdelegates, they wanted to be more hawkish with Iran, they wanted to push back on taking action against fracking, among other things. When the country was clearly wanting change, when it was clear that the status quo was not acceptable, what did she do, beyond work with the DNC to undermine anyone (not just Bernie) in her way? She picked Tim freaking Kaine as her VP. A wet pile of socks. It is almost at this point like asking me to explain how water is “wet”.

Hi maddiemom:
I always tell people to watch the politicians, but to turn the sound off, so that all you can read is the body language. It is a very true marker of what is really going on. The eyes are important too, and I always found the Hillary’s eyes to be without life, and unkind too, with a touch of superiority and haughtiness. her eyes often show distain for the person she is speaking with or speaking about.
When people are not comfortable in their own body, I have always found that they are out of synch with what ever they are saying. Maybe this will work for you, because I have found it very helpful. If you can find a video of her big speech while waiting for the vote to come in------l saw a scary lady in her white outfit as if she was blessing them all and with a self satisfied look on her face------and I have said this before, as if she were Amy Semple McPherson, in her white robes blessing the people. I did find it to be very creepy… It’s kind of like looking at a snake that had teeth—the smile is there but the eyes seem like a black mamba. : (

May I suggest you read her book, What Happened. Like Moby Dick, it’s main character is flawed, and you know it doesn’t end well.

She was not able to see how other people saw her. She worked so hard, with dozens of people working for her, finding solutions to problems that her constituents may encounter–but what did she actually believe herself? She didn’t say. So things looked good on paper, but people couldn’t trust her to follow through.

Her secret speeches to Goldman Sachs, her designer clothes when speaking to out-of-work miners, all left a sour taste in the people’s mouths. And not disavowing NAFTA that took people’s jobs away? Not helpful.

But, I would love the chance to sit down for some tea with her. The book, written in her voice, was exactly that. Highly recommended.

One more thing–the Clinton Foundation–with donations from Saudi Arabia. It stretches the imagination that this is a sepatate entity, a blind trust, run by her daughter, and that this would not influence decision-making.

Simply taking advantage of the rubes once again.
As I have said before, the smash and grab portion of this presidency is upon us. He knows the wheels are coming off the cart, and that the final items of this “Reagan revolution” need implemented ASAP. Mark my words, the closer we get to the 2020 election cycle, if Trump appears to be losing big, social security, Medicare and Medicaid will be on the chopping block, and the SCOTUS will end Roe v Wade.
They will have nothing to lose at that point.

What gets me is how gullible people are even when the truth has been staring them in the face and shouting in their ear- they still don’t get it. Jesus was right “the kingdom of heaven is all around but people don’t see it.”
