Kansas Judge Issues Last-Minute Block of 'Unprecedented' Abortion Ban

Nadia Prupis, staff writer

A Kansas district judge on Thursday temporarily blocked a state law from taking effect that would ban a common abortion procedure—a measure opponents have called "an unprecedented attack on women's health."

Judge Larry Hendricks of the Shawnee County district court granted the injunction against Senate Bill 95 (SB95) while he considers a lawsuit filed by a medical clinic in the city of Overland Park and the Center for Reproductive Rights.

Seemingly unrelated on the face of it, the case of the so called 'Fort Dix 5' - a case of entrapment of two brothers, save for post 9/11 rationale used by the FBI to employ extreme measures and criminal 'plant' to try to get them to follow his nefarious planning. This presumably with FBI counter terrorism unit making some sort of deal with the 'plant' in light of a criminal record.

The institutionalization of this mindset is also reflected in the 'Counterinsurgency Manual', which in scathing critique by the Network of Concerned Anthropologists, cites the conflation of practices in anthropology with politicized militarism. This seems strikingly similar to both the FBI counter terrorism practices as well as attitudes toward the relationship of a woman to her doctor, the medical insurance debacles and politicization of a procedure that no woman would want to go through in the first place. A woman having no recourse to effective birth control and care much less rape or abuse with politicians manipulating public opinion for personal gain according to extrapolations of and for ideological advantage.

That is to say, all of these, in my opinion, are emblematic of a profound misplacement with commensurately profound impacts. Because of the distortions constantly folded and re-folded into what would otherwise be personal and societal introspection into longstanding perspectives and practices that give rise to intensification of dehumanizing ideologies, they beget ever more practices of the same in self-fulfilling prophesies - which are not prophesies in the real sense at all and need to be called out and halted.

Hi the old goat.

An intellectual is a man who takes more words than necessary to tell more than he knows.

I mean no disrespect.

You are correct. That is why there is supposed to be a separation of church and state. The republicans can not understand that concept.

Perhaps women need to use the tactics in Aristophenes' Lysistrata and withhold all sexual favors until men stop trying to control their every twitch and start focusing on their own (rather monumental) problems. Jes' sayin....

Hmm, so who pays for the extraordinary measures necessary to keep a second or third trimester 'baby' alive?
You?
Your post is an amazing example of twisted and pretzeled 'logic'.

It is quite clear that your grasp of medicine and general womens' reproductive health is incredibly, astoundingly ignorant.
You also didn't answer my question as to who pays to keep these 'babies' alive after a second or third trimester abortion.
However, the bottom line as to whether of not someone chooses to have an abortion is NONE of YOUR business. Period.
