Kayaktivists Attempt to Stop Shell’s Damaged Arctic Ice Breaker from Departing for Arctic

WASHINGTON - An array of kayaktivists and protesters are gathering on July 28, starting at noon, and staying for a 24-hour vigil at Cathedral Park in Portland, OR, at the banks of the Willamette River in anticipation of the Fennica, Shell Oil’s damaged ice-breaker, departing on July 29 from Portland for the Arctic. The Fennica’s departure will allow Shell to commence drilling in the Arctic.

Please be consistent. If you are going to protest against Shell, don't do it using REI kayaks. It's REI that gave Sec. Sally Jewell (and the Obama Admin) the laundry service needed to clean away all those Fracking and Virgin Oilfield chemicals that stained her soul (and enriched her bank account plus the Obama library fund).

And McKibben, why were you not vocal when Sec. Sally Jewell was at her senate hearing for the Interior post?
