Ken Bossong—“Favorite Sun”

Ralph Nader

If Mother Sun were to select a favorite son on Planet Earth, Ken Bossong would be high on the list. Operating for over forty years on a tiny budget from a tiny office in Takoma Park, Maryland, the unsung solar energy advocate has been a one-man informing and organizing machine.

He founded the Sun Day campaign in 1992, in his words, “to aggressively promote sustainable energy technologies as cost-effective alternatives to nuclear power and fossil fuels.”

What a breath of fresh air.

Something positive and issue related.

I will not sully it with commentary about what it is in stark contrast to.

Why spoil a good thing?

In 2011 I bought and installed a 5.6KW solar system. (By I, I mean I went down and applied for a Home Owners Permit which I didn't get, but none the less built the ground base, dug the ditches, set the panels and then called an electrical contractor to apply for the permit to grid tie)
In 5 years the system has paid for about 70% of it's cost by my rough calculation.
It is one of the best damn investments one can made.
I hope you will try it.
