'Laying Siege' to Institutional Racism, Seattle Teachers Hold District-Wide Black Lives Matter Rallies

In an unprecedented display of unity in the face of continued institutional racism, 2,000 teachers and employees across the Seattle school system on Wednesday donned t-shirts that read "Black Lives Matter/ We Stand Together," while students and teachers across the district organized rallies with the declaration, "Black Lives Matter at Schools."

Good on 'em all! I do hope a few who didn't wear the shirts ask those who did to educate them on the issues.

The beauty of courage is that it can become contagious. It is precisely "beyond the ballot box" where we need to organize. Hats off to Seattle teachers!

Exactly. This is an example of parental failure not institutional racism.
