Learning from Limbaugh

“At length I recollected the thoughtless saying of a great princess, who, on being informed that the country people had no bread, replied, ‘Let them eat cake.’’” Jean Jacques Rousseau, Confessions

Jabba the Hut, king of HATE radio and champion of the "Politics of Resentment." This bloated, disgusting windbag gives angry white males justification for lashing out, verbally and often physically, at uppity women/Feminists, Blacks, Latinos, Arab "Islamist terrorists," and any other SECT that's unlike this particular demographic unsettled by its loss of dominance.

I wonder if the old kings paid executioners well? After all, what's extracted at the soul level--in terms of price--for doing so much harm unto others ought to be compensated in the current sojourn.

Old Rush had a pill problem since understandably, the guilty echoes of what's left of his barren conscience must haunt him like ghosts when he tries to go to sleep at night.

I believe it was covert agencies that funded this creep's initial celebration in radio. He was given access to major cities, tons of advertising, and an instant audience. I also believe that Pat Robertson's fundamentalist Christian church, paving the way to a televised audience that quickly went into the millions, was also covertly funded.

Why? Because both of these male-run networks push a pathetic patriarchal ideology that makes angry white people at home blaming others for the troubles caused by the Paradigm of White (mostly male) domination. Both push their own convenient versions of Calvinism in order to convince listener-followers of the "decency" of their prejudices while simultaneously providing a rationale for forms of righteous selfishness crossed with deep-seated narrow-mindedness.

Rush Limbaugh is one reason why the privatization of media now consolidated into a few corporate hands is so dangerous and odious. The other is Fox News with its constant false war messaging frames... strong enough to misguide millions of persons into agreeing with the WRONG trigger for a thoroughly FALSE set of wars.

An interesting side note -- people who watch Fox News are less informed than people who utterly ignore all sources of "news". In other words, they know less than people who know nothing. Ignorance is strength.

Limbaugh relates to a large audience of people in the USA via his radio broadcasts the idea that “Happiness equals comfort. ‘Seventy grand, well, I can stop working hard’ is what it means. . . . This is pure, unadulterated socialism, which has never worked.” That such a view which is posited by him to his mass of listeners should be taken as the essence of wisdom but is in fact pure, unadulterated hogwash is ultimately not the problem.

"I don't know what you mean by 'glory,' " Alice said.
Humpty Dumpty smiled contemptuously. "Of course you don't—till
I tell you.
I meant 'there's a nice knock-down argument for you!' "
“But ‘glory' doesn't mean 'a nice knock-down argument'," Alice objected.
“When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone,
"it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less."

Limbaugh’s assertions are cockeyed and absurd. They don’t merit being repeated - not here, not anywhere. I believe the problem is not that the Limbaugh is rolling in cash but that the rubbish he feeds his masses is so effectively and willingly accepted by them. The problem is with the demented world view of the masses that he so easily manipulates.

Alice was not so gullible.

Being in Canada I had heard of this phenomenon called Rush Limbaugh but had never heard him. I took a vacation down in the States and found him on a number of Radio Stations. I simply could not believe he had that level of popularity among the population. The guy was a doofus.

As i was driving alone all of those miles trying to find someone reasonable on the radio (this many years ago during the latter Reagan years) I remember thinking that it sounded a lot like what one would expect from a propaganda station in Nazi Germany. It was just all too convenient, Reagan soon to leave office and this guy suddenly appearing on all of those radio Stations preaching that "welfare queen driving to pick up her cheque in Cadillac nonsense"

I agree with your suggestion that he had the support of agencies inside the Government.

Rush Limbaugh is a clown. Americans love clown so his salary will go higher and higher until he annoyes the authority. At that time he would be kicked out. he is a good clown and remarkably that bozo doesn't have any bones in his body. Even a kilogram of viagra failed to cause his erection. Question is why people pay any attention to that moron.

#9

Look, you may not like Rush, but no one wants to pay more for sending their servants to purchase drugs in parking lots.

Have a little compassion, folks.

Well I always said that Rupert Murdoch was Geobbels reborn.
