As I’ve said before, everyone wants to see the loopholes in the tax code closed, until it’s their loophole.

AWEA and others in the wind energy industry have been telling us for years how technology is improving and costs coming down, and that the industry can stand on its own. Confusing, to put it mildly, to see the wind lobby again piling in to protect the PTC and the opaque and costly tax-equity charade it enables. If the effect of the current tax legislation is to end the charade, directly or indirectly, then. If we still think the government needs to make corporate welfare payments to support this particular industry, have Congress do it openly and directly, not through arcane tax provisions that subsidize bankers, lawyers and accountants.
