Man Turns Himself in Over Anti-Nuke Drone Stunt in Japan

Jon Queally, staff writer

In Japan this weekend, 40-year-old Yasuo Yamamoto was arrested by police after turning himself in and admitting he was the individual who flew a small drone, plastered with warning labels and carrying low-grade radioactive material, onto the roof of the office of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe last week.

Yasuo Yamamoto, You are a COURAGEOUS SOUL, my friend! The clock is ticking down to when humankind cannot dial back the nuclear nightmare, levied against Planet Earth's People. The sooner that the news gets out that THE NUCLEAR LIE IS A FACT and The US, Canada, Japan, Russia, China, S. Africa, Argentina, Brazil, India, Pakistan, S. Korea, Israel, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Europe, the "Stans" (Kazakhstan, etc.) and Taiwan - AND MORE - threaten the future of life genetics. You ROCK, sir!

Snowden et al, now Yamamoto...modern day heros!

#4

Whoah!

Of course any dirt Yamamoto put in his drone was going to be radioactive! The whole island North of the Fukushima disaster is radioactive after the triple meltdown!

What should worry all of us is that salvage metals from Fukushima have gotten into consumer products. Repeatedly, Japanese ships full of cars and metal barges have had to return back to Japan from Korea and South Africa because their cargoes were red hot and those nations detected the dangerous radiation and forced them to return.

#5

"Red Hot"...I think Not. Where is the data about the actual level of contamination found on "cars and metal barges"? This smells of the typical alarm from anti-nuclear power folks like TJ. Radioactivity is found everywhere due to natural sources. The question is at what levels and what amounts. It is easily detected, quantitated, and assessed as to risk level. So far no acutely hazardous levels have been found from Fukushima outside the Prefecture where the accident happened.

#6

Now everyone buying a little drone will be considered a potential terrorist. Hmmm, this has huge implications.

#7

The amount of radioactivity released by all the nuclear power plants on earth produces only a fractional increase in the dose that life experiences from natural radiation sources which have been here since the earth formed.. Those who measure radioactivity levels have shown this to be the fact.
So what is the "LIE"?

This might interest you.

"Prof. Aoyama from Fukushima University Institute of Environmental Radioactivity reported that 800 tera Bq (800,000,000,000,000 Bq) of Cesium-137 is going to reach West Coast of North America by 2016. The amount to reach of other nuclides such as Cs-134 and other nuclides are not officially announced.
This is 5% of the total Cs-137 amount discharged to the Pacific.

(Iori’s note : This is a report from Fukushima University. The actual amount can be bigger than reported due to the political pressure to downplay the actual situation.)"

A Bq is the amount of radioactivity which produces one atom undergoing decay per second. Thus when all the Fukushima accident Cs-137 is diluted in the sea it produces virtually no additional dose beyond that from natural background or that from atmospheric nuclear weapons testing prior to the test ban. So far the Fukushima Cs-137 release has not beenl detected at the U.S. west coast over the past 4 years since the accident and marine biologists do not believe there will be any significant dose to the genetic material of the nearby sea life as the result of the accident. The absence of an increase in Cs-134 is in fact the means to detect Fukushima released Cesium.

He should go with a disclaimer. This message is brought to you by the Nuclear Power Industry. We give you that warm fuzzy feeling. And no that warm fuzzy feeling isn't a hot particle you just swallowed.

#12

So... landing a harmless drone near your one percent overlord is terrorism, OR soil from Fukushima is not harmless. Heh heh.... this was a brilliant choice of protest.

Any radioactivity from the Fukushima accident that enters the Earth's waters is diluted by diffusion and water currents. The Cs-137 concentration in 2016 at the US West Coast can only be very very roughly guessed at. Eventually (neglecting radioactive decay), uniform concentration throughout the hydrosphere is approached.

800 TBq diluted by the 1.4 yottagrams of the Earth's hydrosphere is about 10 attocuries/liter. The EPA's Maximum Contaminent Level for drinking water is over 3 million times as great.
