This whole situation is heartbreaking. Most US citizens have no idea how exhausting it is to argue for what you’re entitled to, from you’re homeowners and auto insurance providers as well as FEMA. And that’s exactly what you’re doing, arguing with them, sometimes adjuster after adjuster (I have actually had to physically throw adjusters out of my home because of ridiculous low-ball offers for claims), until you can come to a agreeable amount for damages. This is after you’ve spent untold hours gutting and cleaning up you’re home or business. Most of these poor people, if they had any insurance at all, had outrageous deductibles that they can’t pay because there’s no work. FEMA and SBA must step in and provide low interest loans to fill the gap and get these people on the road to recovery in this unique situation. It’s disgusting that these US citizens have been all but abandoned by our government. Is this what all of us can expect from now on when a disaster strikes our area in the future?
