Medicare for All 'Is What Patients Need': New Harvard Study Shows Even Those With Private Insurance Can't Afford Care
The attack on Warren for supporting MFA was incredibly intense, especially on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
Shows the extent to which mainstream media is in the tank for private health care.
Picture health insurance CEOs as trolls under the bridge on your way to the doctor. They come out from under as you try to pass and if you can’t pay them enough they won’t let you on your way. Please tell all of your unconvinced friends this metaphor and that the only rational alternative is Medicare for ALL.
The attack on Warren? There’s still someone here talking about Warren? Isn’t she the one who huddled with Clinton and CNN to plan the latest hail-mary fiasco boomerang attack on Sanders? I can recall Warren backpedalling like hell. I called it MFA3, or Medicare For All After Awhile. From the moment Warren showed her true colors with MFA3, it’s been meteoric plummetting (and the hail-mary stunt only accelerated her fall). Warren, my friend, is absolutely toast. She’s even out of the picture as a running mate now, imho, for outstanding moral turpitude.
Be nice to Liz. She used to be Republican. She used to teach Reaganomics. She used to be progressive. Now, she is just being used by Hillary and the DNC.
But, we need her in the Senate.
Agreed, Liz is in the upper 10 percentile of Congresscritters for progressives.
Absolutely hilarious article on Politico this morning. Establishment DEMS upset over how to stop Sanders. Claims the media has not challenged Sanders enough and that they have completely let him off the hook on Medicare for all at the debates!
They are so right! They have let him off on a system that would save trillions over a decade, most people thousands, would save hundreds of thousands of lives, stop medical bankruptcies and job lock and would strengthen labor relative to capital. The lies against that system have been weak, I mean they have let him off easy. Oh, and it isn’t realistic, say the very politicians that make it unrealistic right now because of how they vote. We’re ruled by idiots.
Too bad Wafflin’ Warren isn’t “in the tank” for M4A!
Idiots, Joan, or deeply corrupt Greed Capitalists?
Definition of idiot
1 a stupid person
2 a person affected with extreme intellectual disability
No…They know EXACTLY what they are doing!
Harvard University is culpable in training their MBA students to be sociopaths that care only about this quarters bottom line, and we have all paid dearly for it. It’s about time somebody at that school started telling the truth about the systematic destruction of the middle and lower classes.
That is easy: Time for another donation and an FU to the establishment Dems.
The evidence for Medicare-For-All is overwhelming.
The lies against it are contrived.
One thing that needs to be addressed with Medicare for All is something I thought wasn’t a problem: denial of care for people who actually have Medicare. I live in California, and in 2011, the state sold our Medicaid system (called Medi-Cal) to for-profit companies, so those of us who had Medi-Cal, like me, had to sign up with a for-profit company that was operating in our county. In my county, there were 2 such companies: Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and a local company called Alameda Alliance for Health. AAH did provide health care to some local businesses. Anyway, AAH/CHCN (the part of AAH that deals solely with Medi-Cal) started limiting the providers one could see. (This had been a problem since the 70s–doctors wouldn’t take Medi-Cal as Calif had and has the lowest Medicaid reimbursement rate in the country.) But it gets worse: if you have Medi-Cal and Medicare, the for-profit company that “owns” your Medi-Cal is–check this out–authorized by Medicare to “buy out” your Medicare account. So–even though doctors accept Medicare, they often don’t accept Medi-Cal as a “secondary”, and you’re right back in your same boat of limited or no providers. And this is legal. This has happened to me twice since December. My only alternative is to drive over an hour to the other end of the county to see the sole specialist in the county who will take Medi-Cal, or drive 45 minutes to the county hospital specialty clinic. And I don’t have a car. (The county hospital orthopoedic specialty clinic, just for example, requires an 18-month wait, even for severe cases. I guess they hope you’ll die first.) So, if you are poor and/or disabled in California, enrolling in Medicare at 65 is just another opportunity to screw you over. This may or may not be happening in other states–though I wouldn’t put it past the health insurance industry. This really needs to be addressed in MfAll, so the insurance companies can’t pull this again!
Yes, let’s keep the FU’s going! And I just sent another donation, I love to do that after each stupid attack they direct at Bernie.
Did you see ol rabid repug norah odonnell go after Bernie on cbs

Classism is the name of our social system… Why do we accept the notion of classes of people any more?
Sorry for the problems your having accessing care. Please go to Sen. Sander’s (VT.) or Rep. Jayapal’s (WA.) websites and review their proposed plans for expanding Medicare. There are slight differences between the two, but for the most part they are on the same page. Both plans eliminate health insurance as we know it, because everything is covered under them, except cosmetic surgery. I think you’ll agree both plans resolve the issue your facing now.
Because GREED CAPITALISM exists and makes the rules…FOR NOW!
Dianne, as someone who has advocated and organized aroung Expanded, Improved Medicare For All will mean absolutely everybody will have the same ONE coverage and eliminates all private insurance for necessary care. One network for all so if these private companies don’t like it they can go into other insurance scams. Those of us, like you and me, will be able to go to anyone whose expertise we need and not be limited to often inadequate care in our home states. A vast improvement.
