Mississippi Judge Sides With Planned Parenthood Over 'Unacceptable' Funding Law

Nadia Prupis, staff writer

A federal judge on Thursday ruled in favor of women's rights, blocking a Mississippi law that prohibited state Medicaid funds from going to organizations that provide abortions.

U.S. District Judge Daniel P. Jordan III issued the ruling in a lawsuit filed by two Planned Parenthood affiliates, citing a similar case in Louisiana and other states writing, "essentially every court to consider similar laws has found that they violate" federal choice-of-provider law.

Thanks for sharing this good news, which should be unnecessary.

No need to repeal Hyde Amendment. Just stop renewing it every year.

Good news, but not only on women, but for us all. If the GOP can control ownership of a woman's body, why not for a male and intersex?

If they can control women's bodies, they can and do control every one's. This has nothing to do with sex, and everything to do with----- theocratic, hypocritical, paternalistic, hateful, murdering legal acts and laws.

And 2000+ thousand years of religious brainwashing. Even about 30% of Millennials 27-35 think if you commit suicide your soul will go to Hell.

I do not even have the civil right to use a natural medicine, and eat the fruit of the vine. Instead, I could be fined, jailed, imprisoned, raped daily by prisoners and guards, and have a totally fucked up life.

Call that freedom? The did not end slavery, they just redecorated the set, changed costumes and actors.
