The real question isn’t whether most Americans disagree with Trump’s “America First” national security policy — they do, in large numbers. The real question is what they’re willing to do about it.
Unfortunately, if the Democrats nominate Biden as their candidate in 2020, many in these polls will vote for Biden as their way of doing something about it. While Biden may re-engage on some treaties and accords, he will certainly not take on the military. Remember, this is the same Joe Biden who advocated fiercely for invading Iraq and the Democratic party establishment, as always, remains a wing of the War party. Even Obama relished his role as Weapons Salesman in Chief. Unless a progressive manages to steal the nomination, voting Democrat in 2020 just returns the country to an Obama era war on terror status quo.
The way I see it, status, Joe will be the dems. choice for POTUS in 2020 which could very well enable Trump a second term, but I would love to be wrong! And a progressive steals the nomination.
It is a long way from here to there. There are still plenty of conservative Dem alternates.
