Russia is accused of deliberately violating the surprise extensions of Turkish airspace this past weekend. On Wednesday Russia launched 26 cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea at ISIS targets in Syria. Turkey and western officials have accused Russia of targeting with those strikes not ISIS but other rebel forces particularly those being paid to remove the legitimate government in Syria.
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said Wednesday in Istanbul, "We would not want any tensions with Russia, but it is our right as a neighbor to expect Russia to respect Turkey’s airspace and borders and to respect Turkey’s interests in Syria," Last time I checked Russia was operating in Syria at the invitation from the legitimate Government, and in full compliance of International laws; what gives NATO the right to question this?
