Yes indeed, Smerl, you just can't make this shit up regarding weapons and NRA:
What an obvious HUUUGE irony it was for our president, in Poland to
celebrate NATO's purchase and installation of more provocative 'missile
systems' [big guns] in Eastern Europe, had to start his NATO meeting
with an apology (with near tears), that the NRA's [small arms] caused
THREE tragedies in Minneapolis, Baton Rouge, and Dallas, while he is
acting as a virtual salesman for the [big guns] so-called 'defense
contractors' [actually massive global weapons makers or "Merchants of
Death"] --- all while the American public is deaf, dumb, and blind to
the FACT that the pissant little domestic small arms manufacturers and
poor-house NRA members can't possibly be funding the apparent NRA
PR/propaganda and lobbying efforts, but certainly have a marketing
'message' --- "The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy
with a bigger gun" --- which is a thousand times more valuable PR
message to the 1000 times more profitable "Merchants of Death" (Boeing,
Lockheed, Raytheon, et al.) and their 70% global market share of
"Missiles, Fighter Planes, Nuclear Bombs, etc." than the pissant little
dumb NRA members and the nearly bankrupt little U.S. small arms
Get an effin clue, people.
What the effin little NRA does for gun nuts and small arms makers domestically is a piss hole in the snow.
What NRA's hidden support from the "Merchants of Death" does for the Trillion $ per year [big gun] industry is the real key!!
The Marketing message of 'fear' and demand of "The only way to stop a bad
guy with a gun, is a good guy with BILLIONS of Big Weapons" is where the
rubber really hits the road.
This EMPIRE only 'posing' as our former country is actually the HQ of the biggest Disguised Global Capitalist EMPIRE in world history ---- or as Laurence Shoup calls it the neoliberal geopolitical capitalist-classes' EMPIRE of chaos,
looting, exploitation, destruction, and ultimate bankruptcy.
"This CFR worldview and grand strategy— the defining political and economic
paradigm of our era— is neoliberal, “free market,” corporate
globalization, together with a combination of geographically oriented
political and economic thinking and action at the level of global power
politics, summed up by the term geopolitics. For the purpose of analysis
in this chapter, the neoliberal and geopolitical policy frameworks are
kept distinct, but they are united in actual practice as neoliberal
geopolitics. At the level of grand strategy and goals, neoliberalism as a
system of exploitation and as an ideology, the history of how the CFR
and its members helped create neoliberalism, and the geopolitical and
geoeconomic strategies for global implementation as outlined by key
Council intellectuals, will be discussed. At the level of tactics, the
role of “small wars,” “soft power,” and the U.S. government as Goliath
will be examined.

And as Professor Robinson concurs:
"The U.S. state is a key point of condensation for pressures from dominant
groups around the world to resolve problems of global capitalism and to
secure the legitimacy of the system overall. In this regard, “U.S.”
imperialism refers to the use by transnational elites of the U.S. state
apparatus to continue to attempt to expand, defend, and stabilize the
global capitalist system. We are witness less to a “U.S.” imperialism
per se than to a global capitalist imperialism. We face an EMPIRE OF
GLOBAL CAPITAL, headquartered, for evident historical reasons, in

Of Course, none of the EMPIRE's 'media/propaganda-sector' leading liars
even noticed or reported the massive irony of Obama's war-weapons
sales-call on NATO and Eastern Europe today having to be preceded by his
apology (with near tears in eyes) for the unexpected ugliness in
Minneapolis, Baton Rouge, and Dallas with NRA supported small arms
“The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy
with a bigger gun" (or Missile System) --- the synergistic (and
dangerous) link between the little small arms industry and their
thousands times bigger brothers in war industry ‘defense contractor’
giant transnational MIC "Merchants of Death" weapons corporations.
From this NYT story, "The alliance is expected to declare that the initial
phase of its missile-defense system is finally operational. And the
leaders are scheduled to discuss ways to deter members from
cyberattacks, having elevated cyberwarfare to the same status as air,
land and naval warfare."
From this WaPo story:
After the Dallas shootings, Obama once again offered
condolences to the families of the dead. He spoke generally of the need
for reforms to America’s gun laws, which last month prompted sit-ins by
Democratic lawmakers in the Congress demanding change.
“We also know when people are armed with powerful weapons, it makes events like
these more deadly and more tragic, and we are going to have to consider
those realities,” Obama said.
At least it won’t be Obama (nor this Congress) who has to “offer condolences” to the families of the dead when Europe lights up like Dallas, eh?
