NC Lawmakers Want to Shield Factory Farms from Big Damage Payments to Victims

Sue Sturgis

Legislation moving through the North Carolina General Assembly would prevent people living near the state's numerous factory farms from recovering more than token damages in civil lawsuits where the farm's corporate owner is found responsible for harming them.

I bet those Republican lawmakers do not live adjacent to a factory hog farm!

True that!

Obviously, they have also "canned" any pretense of representing the interests of their human constituents.

In North Carolina, it appears, you can "follow the money," or follow the "hogwash." Either way, it stinks.

Why raise hogs in the first place? There are ethical reasons to be a vegetarian, and of course the health benefits as cited by physicians and read in Forks Over Knives. Those "prolifers" will always justify their arrogance by killing innocent animals then being hypocrites while yelling against abortion. This picture is horrific and reminds me once again of why I have been a vegan for over three decades.
