New Coalition Calls for the End of the U.S.-Saudi Alliance; Condemns Saudi's Domestic Repression and Civilian Deaths in Yemen

WASHINGTON - As Saudi Arabia’s King Salman comes to Washington for a September 4 White House visit, a new coalition of human rights organizations is calling on the United States to end its alliance with the absolute monarchy.

The Coalition to End the U.S.-Saudi Alliance denounces the kingdom for its shocking domestic human rights abuses and its disastrous Yemen war. It demands that the U.S. stop wasting the enormous amount of money that our government spends supporting Saudi Arabia and its collaborators in the Gulf Cooperation Council.

American's foreign policies are not in the interest of peace, and are not producing more security for our people. We are about to make peace with Iran, and Obama is pushing a one billion dollar sale of weapons to Iran's worse enemy, Saudi Arabia. We are fighting alongside Saudi Arabia against people in Yemen who fighting to get corruption out of their government. Saudi Arabia is a Sunni nation and is trying to kill as many Shiites as possible in Yemen. Why are we killing Shiites with Saudi Arabia, and talking peace with Iran which is a Shiite populated nation? WE SHOULD NOT BE FIGHTING WARS ANYWHERE, ESPECIALLY ALONGSIDE A NATION THAT TREATS WOMEN SO CRUELLY AS SAUDI ARABIA! WE SHOULD NOT BE SELLING SAUDI ARABIA ONE BILLION DOLLARS WORTH OF WEAPONS TO USE IN A RELIGIOUS WAR. Our foreign policies are so flawed that we need a new political party of peace and justice to replace the current ruthless foreign policies. Fighting all of these wars is bandrupting our Treasury and preventing our children from getting FREE COLLEGE. The war money should be directed toward constructive purposes, not destructive wars. We should not be the world's policeman or the world's largest seller of weapons. We are morally bankrupt.Citizens in other nations facing this type dilemma have chosen to build labor parties to fix their government, and protect working families. We need to follow their example. See my website www.BoldThoughts.org and learn how to build a Labor Party that will represent the people again. Today's Democrats are but a shadow of past Democrats. Today's Democrats value campaign funds from corporations over the lives of the people.
