It certainly looks like Senator Sanders should have run as an independent.

At this point running in an either completely corrupt and/or completely inept democratic primary is a negative for any candidate.

The dems have hit rock bottom and are making a mockery of our democracy and making trump look like a genius in comparison. They are a disgrace.

Is there any way sanders can re-set his campaign as an independent and distance himself from this debacle?

Seriously concerned about a trump landslide.

It’s a good thing Bernie’s people kept their own records, or we may never know what happened.

Well this is Democracy, US style, for sure.

Biggest question is what is the Sanders camp going to do this time to counter this massive effort to derail his candidacy? Will he fold like the last time or run as an Independent?

Because the game is rigged, that could not happen. If he gets screwed again and doesn’t go into the general as an Indie, then I just plain give up. There is no chance of expecting the “Ds” to be anything but what they are…CORRUPT!

Every time in recent history when the democrats chased The most progressive and young voters away from the party, they have gotten their asses handed to them on Election Day. While it would take some doing to fuck up that badly this election season, never say never. They are, after all, democrats.

It is not about gaining delegates, a very minor consideration in the big picture, but the loss of a victory speech that would have been given national coverage when publicity is the key to winning, and the loss of raising donations to the campaign. Plus the gaining of support from those candidates who may well have dropped out after a poor showing, since none will on this occasion. They all go to NH.

When Sanders is declared successful, the victory will be a very hollow one, hidden away under headlines of Iowa’s caucus fiasco

And in any state that does not have paper ballots all voters should take a photo of there vote for their own records to prove their vote. It is just a way to fight back these ba$tadr-s.

Corporate dems are shaking in their boots. According to Dave Wasserman of the Cook Political Report ‘there’s virtually no question Sanders won the most caucus support.’

I always thought we should put a personal password on our ballot
So one could login later and see that our ballot was correctly posted

We need to give the Iowa Democratic Party and the DNC more time.
It takes a lot of effort to fudge the results so that Joe Biden is declared the winner.

One has to wonder if that was not the whole idea behind this fiasco, Cui Bono?

I just got home and heard Jefferson Smith (sitting in for Thom Hartmann today) poke fun at people with their tinfoil hats on today, spouting conspiracy theories about the Iowa caucuses. The problem with that thinking is that it ignores everything that has happened in the least couple of months of democratic politics.
After Bernie left the hospital, his polling numbers began to rise. The media widely ignored him. But then the polling numbers got even better. Hillary started it off by badmouthing him in a documentary. The the pundit class, even the democratic ones, lined up against him. Then Nancy holds the house impeachment papers until a couple of weeks before Iowa, effectively taking the two most liberal candidates, Bernie and Warren, off the campaign trail for two weeks. Then the DNC sells itself to Michael Bloomberg, at a discount. Then the only major poll in Iowa is not released because of certain “irregularities”. And now this app reporting debacle.
You know, just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you. This whole thing stinks like yesterday’s sauerkraut.

I think there are time limits / cut off dates on getting on state ballots even as Inde. Don’ know what those are but I’d bet the window has closed or is closing already in many states.

I remember doing that last year at our local polling place. I asked for a paper receipt of my votes. They giggled uncomfortably and said their weren’t any receipts. I asked for proof that my vote was cast. They had none.

Smith, kinda like Hartmann is a Kum bi Yah, ‘cant’ we all get along together’, happy clappy type. NOt a fighter

That level of optimism is dangerous. Hartmann tried to walk that fence in 2016 and really pissed me off

And the corrupt dems. have no one to blame but their own selves, because it is clear to me that they would prefer to have Trump win than back Bernie.

That’s nonsense as to going 3rd Party. Someone else will pick up that mantle after the 2020 general election, perhaps. Sen.Sanders has 5 more years to serve the people of Vermont. The folks who have given him this opportunity. The opportunity to become POTUS, that is.
FYI- The split between progressive 49+% and mod/conservedem 49+% is quite interesting. In Iowa, a state with 2 Republican Senators, M4A and climate change were the top two issues. Income inequality was 4th.

The distinction to be made here is that for Corporate State Democrats a win could actually be another Trump term if the alternative is Sanders as President.

Amen bro. Hartmann still believes that the Democratic Party can be changed from within. That would be laughable if it weren’t so pathetic.
