Few have questioned the drone strike authorized by President Obama that killed the 16 year old US citizen Abdulrahman Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen. Two of his equally young cousins also died in the attack. The boy, as I recall, was into skateboards and music. He was no threat to the USA, though his father’s sermons were considered as such, as he preached in English and reached a large audience. The father, Anwar al-Awlaki was also a US citizen, died in a drone strike ordered by Obama a few weeks earlier. The son was unaware of this at the time of his death.
And here that poor drunk of a president, Ulysses S. Grant, was arrested for riding a horse recklessly through Central Park. And the judge did not grant him leniency. He had to pay the full fine and was given a lecture, besides. No, we’re right where Alexander Hamilton and John Adams wanted the presidency to be-a monarchy, where Congress only gave advice and consent. Let’s see…the illegal wars and covert actions since the end of WW2-Korea, Vietnam, that little mess in Grenada, Iraq One and Two, Afghanistan, plus the death squads in Central and South America. Might as well include the bombing and mining of Laos and Cambodia in there, too. Land mines still inflict casualties in Laos, whose only sin was having a border with Vietnam…
Well, Obama proved that when he liquidated a US citizen overseas.
Hate Trump, but the righteous indignation sounds a little hollow.
Cluster Bombs for Yemen
Separating asylum-seeking families.
(one of his appointees recently defended the.housing conditions for the children).
His signing off on our Endowment for Democracy to prepare regime change plans for Nicaragua & Venezuela.
Funding “friendly jihadists” in Syria.
The US as the world’sforemost exporter of fossil fuels in 2013
The list can go on…
We sleepy folk deserve Trump.
Sorry, anyone who thinks that replacing Trump with a Democrat and a party that helped create Trump will somehow restore a democracy and a respect for a constitution that never existed in the first place is simply deluded. A revolution within a corrupt political system that has been gamed to death by both corporate parties, both of which quote the Constitution only when it furthers their political ambitions, is no revolution at all. It’s just the same old shit sandwich in another wrapper.
A good reduction ad absurdum, as we used to say in philosophy!
