On 18th Anniversary of Iraq Invasion, Activists Renew Calls for US Reparations

Of course, America can’t afford to pay reparations for destroying another country based on evidence-free Big Lies. America needs that money for the coming wars with Russia and China based on evidence-free Big Lies.

Put the architects of that unprovoked, gratuitous assault and invasion against the Iraqi people on trial in The Hague. Book them, prosecute them, try them, convict them, and sentence them. Obviously, a just sentence for those horrific, ongoing crimes must include an order for reparations. A just sentence must also include lifetime imprisonment of Cheney, Rumsfeld, Bush, Rice, Wolfowitz, Pearl, etc.

The propaganda ministers – AKA “mainstream media” – who whipped the US people into a frenzy with their lies and distortions must also face punishment, as did the propaganda ministers of the Third Reich.

Lock Them Up!
Lock Them Up!
Lock Them Up!

Everyone, together … to quote Arlo Guthrie, you ain’t gonna stop a war if you can’t sing louder than that.

Lock them Up!

(… including accomplices like Hillary and Joe Biden who gladly cast their votes for this war crime.)

When I hear Democrats talk about how important it is to save the filibuster, I remember that they never used it to stop anything important like a war crime that killed millions.

The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists has their Doomsday Clock set at 100 seconds to midnight.

That is not in real time. They usually only update it once a year. So, when in a single week I see Biden escalating with Russia by calling Putin a “killer”, and I see Biden escalating with China by military provocations and slapping sanctions on their officials days before a first meeting … I hear in the back of my head a voice saying "100 … 99 … 98 … "

Does anyone know if cutting the red wire or the blue wire either defuses this bomb or explodes it?

Wouldn’t it be fine for reparations to be planned for before any and every bomb or bullet is sent anywhere.

LOL … They make the USPS pre-pay their pensions. They should make the DOD pre-pay their reparations.

Biden boasted he would get tougher on Russia and China though the use of sanctions and a more robust Military during his election campaign.

People claiming themselves as progressives implored people to vote for him. Guys like Ellsberg who should know better insisted he was the only choice.

We spent billions rebuilding Iraq infrastructure - instead of our own.
examples:
We air freighted heavy duty generator sets, daily, for at least two years.
We sent 2 natural gas turbine generators and the iraqui sabatooogied them.
We sent in medicines for their civilians.
We gave governance to the shia, as we had promised Spring 1991.

We owe Iran for our years of economic sanctions with prejudice.
About 55,000 children and elderly died early each yesr due to lack of medicines.
Their hospitals cannot acquire spare parts.
The sanction is the same as a naval blockade. An act of war.

There never was a valid reason for us attacking Iraq in 2003. Our error in 1991 was permitting Sadam to stay in power there.

I’m no expert here, but aren’t US taxpayers already paying reparations to Iraqi officials fattening Dubai bank accounts… not so much North Korea, Vietnam, Cuba, ah but Haiti… there’s been lots of American political payola-payback there!

Yes, and I say the reason was when Congress committed treason to the Constitution! In 1950 they abdicated their Constitutional authority to declare American wars and illegally attacked North Korea by using the canard of calling it a " POLICE ACTION" and ever since Amerika has shed the blood of untold millions of innocent people in many foreign countries without Congressional approval!

One truly terrifying aspect is how many people in the US believe all of our wars are some form of holy war, that we can do no wrong because we’re god’s Chosen People, the Shining City on a Hill Our way of war is that of scorched earth, take out the civilians and infrastructure as well as any perceived soldiers. It’s been used from the beginning against Indigenous peoples, who probably might have overcome the squatter/settlers if they had had the same access to firearms and ammo, and used the same scorched earth policy instead of honorable warfare. Once we ended up in Indochina, the peoples there knew our Total Way of War, and used the guerilla method of fighting with the result of driving out the US.
Gaia and other beings and humans will breath easier once our culture is ground into dust. There will be conflict, of course, but we seem to be the epicenter of so much violence.

The USA has caused so much devastation in Developing Countries since the end of WW2. It has also interfered in other nations’ affairs for over 200 years. The US caused the German people to elect Hitler because it interfered in Germany’s affairs and fought them in WW1. The US urged Panama to secede from Colombia so it could build a canal there. The US took Spain’s last colonies in the Americas and Pacific after the Spanish-American War. The US took land away from Mexico after the Mexican War. The US citizens living there should have just returned to the US and let Mexico keep its land. During the American Revolution, the colonists invaded Canada because it wanted it to be part of the US but the Canadians chose to stay in the British Empire.

The US causes environmental damage in the ME and Afghanistan with its wars and weapons that cause long lasting effects of cancer and other health problems. The US used chemical weapons in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia by using chmical weapons.
It may have done the same thing in Korea during the Korean War. It dropped 2 atom bombs on Japan after it surrendered but said it did it to make Japan surrener.

I always thought that those who voted yea in congress for the Iraq debacle should at least had the decency to not seek office again instead of just apologizing for their “mistake” .

How about we get the hell out of there first?
Then we can talk about the next step

Exactly.

It’s like what Che Guevara requested of the US regarding Cuba: “We want you to simply forget about us.”

Our military budget is tantamount to a war crime and as you suggest actually represents future lives to be extinguished in order to satisfy the avarice of the MIC.

Hi Apache:
Then there was the horror of Iraqi babies being born with their internal organs on the outside of their bodies… or the soldiers at the burn pits getting horrific heath problems. Is it true that Joe Biden’s son died from the poisons of the Bush and Biden war?.

Hi goldtree:
And then the chemical and oil companies come in and America is attacked by air, land and water to create their huge profits —and it’s our own corporations doing that to us and to te Earth-----And they do this to their own future kids and relatives. When corporations are "people, " apparently they get to kill their own citizens. : (
