'One of the Most Significant Rulings' of 2020 as Supreme Court Blocks GOP Effort to Curb Ballot Deadline in Pennsylvania

So what we are learning here is that, despite the States Rights rhetoric of the Federalist society toadies on the court, in the end most are just proto-fascist toadies.
Between now and 2022, the Koch brothers run states will make every legal effort to discourage or outright criminalize mail in and early voting. It appears they may have a sympathetic SCOTUS to back that up. Unless Biden and the democrats reform (that is to say, expand or kneecap) the SCOTUS right away, those actions will stand, and a new confederacy will rise.
That is what’s at stake if Biden doesn’t act in his first month as president.

Maybe some votes lost here:

One cannot emphasize enough the damage this administration , and this incarnation of the Republican Party, is doing to our nation, our democratic processes, and our relationship with the rest of the world.

That there are yet voters who fail to see, or just ignore, the blatant hypocrisy of Trump and McConnell’s actions.or buy into the lies and distortions of what this administration has done these last four years, simply baffles the mind. It is even less understandable when one notes that these very same folks are the most negatively affected by Trump’s actions.

Equally, in the face of our standing perilously close to the cliffs edge with a Trump second term risking the last nail in the coffin for our democracy, we still see far too many leftists griping about Biden’s past, refusing to apply perspective to this race or ignoring exactly how progress is actually made.

For Progressives and Leftists Biden represents a status quo we have been fighting for a very long time, no denial there. But one must understand there are only two choices available, and one works to entrench fascism in our governance and the other is at least a reasonable man who admits errors, is willing to listen to all opinions and work within the framework of our constitution.

It seems to me we have only one choice in this election; vote for Biden, vote against what has become a criminal Republican Party, then do not stop working to save our democracy from unchecked capitalism.

It is looking like the Republicans are having problems with Hispanics in California, because the state is getting so much attention from them. Remember the phony ballot drop boxes in California?

This is why the Dems should have done everything possible to block Handmaid Amy from the court, and Trump has explicitly stated that he worries about 4-4 decisions against him.
Trump is planning on SCOTUS handing him the election the same way it stole the presidency from Gore, which is why Handmaid Amy’s fast placement on the court is so crucial to his despotic dreams.
If only we individual citizens all had the courage of the fictional anti-Gilead warriors in Handmaid’s Tale and The Testaments.
If you want to see our future under the Trump/Pence/Handmaid regime, read those books.

“Fascist society” would be a better name for the ossified heritage these so-called justices hail from. Our Supreme Court divested itself of all legitimacy when they blatantly suspended democracy back in Bush v Gore. That was the time to hit the streets and stop the machine until our votes as citizens mattered more than nine old fools. Since we failed to do it then, the standard calculus today is: No matter how much of a landslide for the other side, only the vote of USA’s Supreme Court will count in 2020.

Fascists like Lindsay Graham aren’t even shy about saying it out loud, in front of live microphones: “I’ll honor the decision of the court” he says – about our election. Not the decision of the people, the freaking court. A common assumption holds that the court only interferes “if it’s close” – but that’s just agitprop machine mouthwash. The 2020 election, after Nov 3, will be up to people in the streets. After going to so much trouble, I really doubt US Americans could just lie down and allow another insult like Bush v Gore (much more damaging this time around, if our SC goes there again).

I could be wrong – indeed, I usually am. Tail end of this year is gonna be all kinds of fun, I expect.

IMO, it still will break the other way. Roberts has used one of his occasional fig leafs to hide his true intentions. Once Barrett is confirmed, the GOP in PA will protest again, and the Fully GOP-ized Supreme Court will rehear the case and rule in the way GOD intended.

You mean the guy that still says his “Crime Bill”, NAFTA, the Iraq War, stance against M4A, son’s activities in Ukraine and China, stance against Anita Hill and in favor of confirming Judge Thomas, denunciations of socialism, were all the correct positions? The war criminal? The guy that has advocated vehemently to cut SS and Medicare? That’s the guy?

Here’s the state of the SC and democracy in America people. Four out of eight SC “justices” voted to NOT count votes. ACB will make it five very soon, perhaps just in time for the election. We may need to move to Bolivia to enjoy true democracy, though it remains to be seen how that plays out.

Let’s face it, Amy Coney Barrett is a bot, evil-programmed in the name of righteousness, superior to all others by her faith coming from another dimension. Sorry Sister Amy, Read the Constitution that you are again so willing to prostitute, it doesn’t say what you want it to say, it says FREEDOM.

Something smells.

While they have the chance the current Supreme Court must rule that confirming a new member to their group must wait until after the election. If this is outside of what they are supposed to vote on - so what? This whole administration broke every rule there is to realize bad intentions and got away with it, so let’s go outside of the boundaries to accomplish something good for a change.

Some of those you list Biden has admitted he was wrong about. When did Trump ever admit to being wrong about anything. Consider that Trump is wrong about everything please.
I would respectfully ask you to re-read my earlier post again as you have either missed or ignored its essential points.

Perhaps you might elucidate upon what the demos could have done?

Has it ever occurred to them, I wonder, if that the voice these folks hear in their heads may not really be God?

Look! Bottom line - whether in-person or by absentee/mail-in ballot, VOTE EARLY!

And make sure you take care to take care of every detail so there is no possible reason for them to throw your ballot out. By “them” I’m referring to the right wing, voter suppression machine from thugs at the polls to extremist judges who make up their mind first and consider facts and reason second if at all…

Those phony boxes have been allowed to stay, with security, whatever that means.

I have already put on my calendar for November 4, 2020 that Joe Biden wins in landslide! Every time my phone comes on it flashes on the screen and I celebrate! Go ahead, put it on your calendar if you are an optimist (and if you support getting rid of the pig).

I understand your points, but take issue with some of them. Yes Trump admits no mistakes ever. Yes Trump and the GOP are evil. So are the democrats. Trump is wrong about most things, but not wrong about everything. He is not wrong when he says that the un-democratic party sabotaged Bernie and rigged the primaries against him, along with their accomplices in the media. He is not wrong when he said that the MIC has a stranglehold on this country and that the deep state is working against the interests of the American people. He was not wrong when he said that these endless wars are an indication of the corruption of those in power. I know he will not do anything to correct these truths, but he is not wrong about them. You say that there is only one option to vote in this election and that is to vote for Biden. I disagree. There is also the option of not voting for Trump…or for Biden, which equals exactly zero votes for Trump or for the senile candidate foisted upon us by a corrupt party and author of much which drags this country down and helped get Trump elected. If you deign to vote for a party that shits on your beliefs and values and works fervently to cheat you from having any voice, that is your choice. It is no longer on my list of sane options.
