My gut reaction is what you suspect.

But some have deemed me one of those people.

I suppose if you are to take this on face value. I think it best to put it in context with this Administration, his tweeting nuclear war threats on Twitter…I repeat, Twitter, the upcoming Nuclear Posture Review which will buttress this dickhead Administration’s position to build more “useable” low yield nukes, and the rest.

I smell a rat. (not you, but this “mistake”)

Yeah sure, oooops, wrong button.

Wake up. Tulsi is an enemy of peace with North Korea. Did you read what she was quoted saying in the article?

“Our leaders have failed us. Donald Trump is taking too long. He’s not taking this threat seriously … This is literally life and death that is at stake.

“The people of Hawaii just got a taste of the stark reality of what we face here of a potential nuclear strike on Hawaii. This is a real threat facing Hawaii,"

Okay, what would have been taking the ‘threat’ seriously before it was discovered it was false? Firing missiles at North Korea? Why is everyone freaked out Trump played golf when the alternative is pushing the button? Why is Tulsi upset he didn’t respond? Shouldn’t she be glad?

This is the woman who made a big deal of voting for sanctions of Iran, Russia, and North Korea because she went on and on about Hawaii being threatened by North Korea and we need to punish them with sanctions to force them to not do things like that.

Tulsi is not a hero in this.

President Trump’s response: “Foooorrreee!”

Hours later, the Emergency Response Center sent out an Update:

Regarding our last Emergency Alert:
THIS WAS JUST A TEST. THIS WAS JUST A TEST.

NO NUCLEAR RESPONSE WAS SENT. NO NUCLEAR RESPONSE WAS SENT.

REPEAT: THIS WAS JUST A TEST. (EXPECT FUTURE TESTS.)

Thank you for that. Another hawk draped in a fluffy pigeon’s boa. Tulsi needs a timeout lasting about a decade.

WTF (RED OCTOBER) MOMENT. What if Mr. quickdraw in the oval office had pulled the trigger and blown North Korea off the map and China and Russia had retaliated. The end of the human race as we know it. The Hawaiians were putting their kids down storm drain holes for Christ sake.

… especially if someone like the Moron wanted to distract from Russia, the book,
lawyer’s pay-offs to porn stars and (according to Bannon) another 98 or so women
before the election.

Trump is a very childish, simple-minded man – coulda happened.

We also need to work on just what “benefits” a president can expect –
and I’d suggest some giant cuts there.
How about three weeks vacation?
How about paying one’s own way every weekend to Mara Lago – $20 MILLION every weekend!!
There has to be a limit set on travel costs.
And we should have reimbursement from Trump who’s worth … is it $300 MILLION?

Trump couldn’t pass a test for stability/sanity.

If not deliberate, certainly they will take advantage of the massive reaction to perceived terror, perhaps even spin it to favor their agenda.

I think what the people of Hawaii were forced to endure was horrific and inexcusable. I think Trump would love to have had the chance to show off with a massive nuclear response. However, unlike what I am reading in the comments, I don’t think it was playing golf that saved the world. I believe/would hope that the Pacific Command would have passed along the information that there was no missile attack heading for Hawaii.

Nuclear disarmament, along with demilitarizstion, is still the vitally necessary and sane option for the future of the biosphere.

There is a sane easy solution to the N Korean question, though one not entertained in political circles, and that’s to stop the aggressive belligerent rhetoric, stop military exercises over the North and off their coasts, and then work on a peace treaty the North and South can agree upon. Peaceful negotiations never seems to enter the discussions, at all. They won’t give up their nukes. There needs to be a peace treaty to end the 68 year old conflict. (Technically there’s an armistice, a cease fire, but no official peace treaty between the two sides.)

Even a life and death situation means nothing to Don.
Nothing to worry about; our politicians and generals have everything under control.

They called you “militant”? For criticizing the U.S. militarism? I have to say that they completely missed the point.

Your words are true, Olhippy!

There is a plan in place in case of a nuclear attack. Sadly, that should not make any of us sleep easier. The whole matter lies far less with any one or another president than anyone ever seems to imagine.

The best source I can imagine with respect to this, once again, is Daniel Ellsberg, in this case in his book Doomsday Machine.

It’s worth the read even if, for whatever reason, the possible arrival of nuclear destruction does not interest you, for how political decisions are made in general.

To be more direct: This was Premeditated, Planned, and On Purpose.
A button was not pushed, by mistake, while leaving the Alert for all that time.

Think about the Magnitude of the PsyOp.
How long ago was that Message/Alert created?
How many people had to be in on it?
What is the Level of this Offense?
What was the Goal?

And, how would they answer such a view? “Just another Conspiracy Theory.”

Thirty-eight minutes is a really, really, really long time to ‘correct the mistake.’
