Open Letter to Louise Linton About Angels and Humanity

Richard Eskow

Dear Ms. Linton,

This has undoubtedly been a difficult couple of days for you, both as a person and as the wife of the United States Treasury Secretary.

Nobody enjoys the sudden onrush of hostile attention that comes when something they’ve said goes viral, and not in a good way. Your public record, and even your recent infamous post, suggests you want to be a good person – or, at the very least, that you’d like to be seen as one.

Brilliant, Richard Eskow! Truth trumps privilege.

It is a phenomenon that so many wealthy people fail to recognize that their wealth was made on the backs of the less fortunate. They are sociopaths in that regard=no regard for the suffering of others. How do they sleep at night? How do they live with themselves? Surprisingly well, actually. But it takes a lot of shopping trips, a lot of retail therapy. Name-droppers are such insecure people, really. If you are secure within yourself, there’s no need to broadcast your accoutrements. Louise suffers from emotional impoverishment. Pity…
