The Soviet Union (especially in 1939/40) and North Korea cannot be called “capitalist” nations in any senses of the word without destroying the meaning of the word “capitalist”.You may equate Party bureaucracy with the capitalist class but again, it makes the word “capitalist” meaningless. What it does illustrate that in any state, the “rulers” do not overlap with the “ruled” regardless of the economic system.
But yes, we can definitely agree - the media (and society in general) have swallowed Newspeak in a double plus good manner.
