Paul Ryan Won His Primary, But He’s Still the GOP’s Fading Star

John Nichols

Paul Ryan used to be the star of the closest thing the Grand Old Party had to a boy band: The Young Guns.

Don't underestimate Ryan's savvy.

In addition to being a major recipient of money from the Kochs and other blood money, Ryan has endeared himself to Congressional heavyweights on both sides of the aisle and has many accolades from them to use in his campaigns. Although he steering clear of the 2016 POTUS election he will be back.

I live in Paul's district, but have never voted for him (OF COURSE!). Yesterday I considered the possibility of voting for his opponent, but knew that it would be a waste of time, given the popularity--for UNKNOWN REASONS!--that he has in this district. So far the Democrats haven't put up an opponent of quality, which is one reason why he has been able to stay in office.

Paul Ryan spin-doctor of words. For example, Paul Ryan legislation; Helping American School Kids Act. As Ryan throws American defenseless school kids under the school bus. Paul Ryan looks like the nice neighbor next door; however, he has pure evil pouring out of his cold icy heart!

Sadly, he's still young enough to be back many times. He's been the one rounding up all the Republicans for the TPP. IMO, I believe he stopped growing emotionally when his father died. He is a like a man-child; a teenager still fantasizing over Ayn Rand ideology and lost all empathy for other human beings.

Paul and Sweet William, kindred spirits: talking about the Medicare/SS problem.

May this fading falling "star" become a black hole falling into itself never to be seen again! What does someone raised with a silver spoon up his ... know about living from paycheck to paycheck; making a choice between buying the meds needed for diabetes or paying the rent or utilities; working two and possibly three low-wage jobs to make ends meet; having elderly parents in need of 24/7 care and no money to cover the added costs...and what is even worse, this charlatan has absolutely NO desire to make himself intimately aware of the needs of the poorest in his state (he cannot see them from the top floors of his mansion). He is too damn busy catering to his big donors and lobbyists currying his favor. As for balancing his personal budget, he has business managers to take care of this...along with his million-heiress wife's money manager. Just another empty suit. Ugh!

Particularly repulsive is the fact that he was supported by Social Security, which helped him get through college:
