President Obama stops futile polluter attacks on Clean Power Plan

WASHINGTON - President Obama vetoed two Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolutions this weekend that aimed at nullifying the Clean Power Plan, the landmark public health and environmental policy to cut carbon pollution from power plants. A CRA resolution is a controversial legislative tool that allows Congress to nullify a final administrative rulemaking.

According to the Government Accountability Office, lawmakers have only struck down one rule under the Congressional Review Act in 43 attempts and this tactic has been called extreme by both sides of the aisle.
