The donate screen for the semi-annual fund drive for Common Dreams just popped up. Do you know how to get me to donate again? Keep fluff from Winship, Ambler, Moore-Lappe, Norman Solomon and others from cluttering up the page.

Reprint Hedges more often, and other deeply analytical pieces. Stop shilling for the Democratic Party.

Understated…

Presidunce tRump Ain’t Just Dog Whistling Dixie; he has a full symphony orchestra playing it and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing it.

Has tRump ever had anything for the ‘working classes’ other than hate and fear?

With BLM gaining force and with so many videos posted to youtube of overt Racism visited on blacks and peoples of color , Corporate America is finding itself in a position where they have to divorce themselves from these antics. Law firms, investment banking houses, retailers large and small are finding themselves issuing statements that they have let an employee go after said employee had his/her racist actions posted to youtube. These businesses are doing this to avoid the bad press, boycotts and people posting negative reviews for their businesses on their websites or on YELP.

What there needs to be more of is linking Trumps overt racism to those campaign donations and the firms donating those monies. If they are going to fire an employee with a statement “Racism is not what this Company about and we will not tolerate it with out employees” then they should be queried as to why they donate money to a racist candidate for President.

“…The attorney general’s apparent goal is to turn the Department of Justice into an arm of the president’s personal interests.”

I would disagree with this. Barr has turned the Justice dept. into an arm of the CIA, whos job is to protect the interests of Wall Street and American corporations. Those WS and corporate interests have been trying to inject fascism into our government for at least 100 yrs. They don’t care so much about Trump, other than keeping him in office to further their interests, and not exposing his prior scams in open court, that many of them have also perpetrated. He is their tool/fool.

Racism is embedded in the whole American economic structure. From red-lining to food deserts, to overwhelming black neighborhoods with the combination of dollar stores, liquor stores, payday loan shops every couple blocks or so, with food banks providing fresh food and veggies donated from the left-overs by Corporate mega-stores for tax write-offs. Mass transit? Maybe, but it will be sporadic and not the best equipment. Trying to have your own car? Insurance rates are red-lined. Health care? Again, walk-in clinics. Closest hospitals may be a half hour away.
Banking? That’s what the payday loan store is for. And you will pay fees out the yin-yang. Shopping is hell. Watch the plainclothes security guard following people of color as they simply browse a store, something all of us do.
Switch the venue to states with an Indigenous demographic. Same thing applies.
Wall Street, K Street, The Family, all the diluted blue-blood firms that hire legacy graduates of the Ivies…they’ll have their token person of color(and I haven’t heard of one Indigenous person in hedge fund firms and the Too Big to Fail joints). I must admit, in the interest of transparency, when I hear or read of these places, I look on them as bastions of White Supremacy.

Yes. He also cheats them by not paying them after they had done work on his projects.
Well, that is actually “against” them, not “for” them.

He has also refined the geocentric model of the universe where everything revolves around him (and the subsidiary gods Ivanka and Jared).

Peace.
