Recidivist Criminal and Constitutional Outlaw Trump Rushes to Pardon Criminal Lawbreakers

Pardon me, but there are currently some resolute, aroused citizens that are resisting tyranny by pressuring Pelosi to commit to bring a vote for medicare for all to the floor of the house in order to earn the votes for speaker.

Maybe Ralph thought an article about that would just get lost in all the other articles here on the force the vote effort.

With all the Presidents during my lifetime, the pardons they granted always appeared to be nothing other than cronyism. Trump simply turned what had been part of his predecessors’ exit strategies into a nearly monthly event, on a scale never seen before.

If any of you readers know of anybody who received a Presidential power and was worthy of such during the past half century, please provide details ?

Pardon granted.

What never gets brought up for discussion is that it’s one party - far, far more than the other - that produces these behaviors.

"President Gerald Ford pardoned former President Richard Nixon in the aftermath of his resignation to avoid impeachment and conviction for defying a congressional subpoena, obstruction of justice, and misuse of government agencies. On September 8, 1974, in broad and sweeping language, Ford declared that pursuant to Article II Section 2 of the Constitution “I … do grant a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969, through August 9, 1974.” Nixon’s pardon was never challenged for non-specific descriptions of the pardoned offenses.

"President Jimmy Carter, on January 21, 1977, pardoned violators of the draft laws, known as draft resisters, many of whom fled to Canada. He granted “a full, complete and unconditional pardon” to “all persons who may have committed any offense between August 4, 1964, and March 28, 1973, in violation of the Military Selective Service Act or any rule or regulation promulgated thereunder.” He included in this pardon “all persons heretofore convicted,” of any such offense, “restoring to them full political, civil and other rights.” Excluded, however, were all persons “convicted of or who may have committed any offense involving force or violence.”

While the kids in compliance with the Military Selective Service Act (The Draft for among other things combat service in Vietnam) and who far exceeded participation in offensive use of force and violence, including but not limited to chemical warfare against a civilian population (massive air drops and indiscriminate use of Dow Chemical’s AGENT ORANGE to defoliate an agricultural society’s agriculture) are excluded from pardon or absolved from charges of Crimes Against Humanity, should the U.S. wish to rejoin the civilized world, if a civilized world can be isolated.

While it goes without saying that the intellectual authors (Kissinger and Associates) and Offensive Onslaught commanders of the U.S. invasion of Vietnam (in the middle of their civil war no less!) like U.S. heads of state are in fact protected against any criminal prosecution or civil liabilities under now accepted terms of Professional Immunity as exempted all corporate officers of the tax-payer bailed out (under Savings & Loan Collapse under President George HW Bush via the tax-payer bailed out Resolution Trust Corporation and the Troubled Asset Relief Program structured by former Goldman Sachs CFO and Secretary of Treasury Hank Paulson under President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney).

Just more of the context that our Corporate-Captured News and Public Affairs News industry prefer to leave out of coverage of each new otherwise news-worthy advancement of this never legislated but Justice Department accepted custom of Professional Immunity which our current President Trump over the last 4 years repeatedly asserted via corporate-captured mass media is in fact a congressionally legislated exclusion from criminal prosecution under law known as Executive Privilege. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has played the same 3-Card Monty card by continuing to run for and serve as head of state. This too passes with little to no comment in U.S. News and World Affairs coverage.

Remember that, when Washington’s tax-payer subsidized Public Relations amplify and repeat as established law that which has never been legislated by our elected representatives (Executive Immunity) and each time our Shadow Government seeks to regime change via extra-judicial killing any democratically held legitimate government like Venezuela’s or Honduras’s or Guatemala’s or El Salvador’s, or Haiti’s or Chile’s or Uruguay’s or Brazil’s or Argentina’s or Peru’s or the Dominican Republic’s or Cuba’s or Iraq’s or Iran’s. Or the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s (see under the assassination of Head of State Patrice Lumumba) or Indonesia where during a Cold War waged against centrally planned economies or the Communist Systems of imperial China and Russia’s Soviet Union.

Meanwhile Washington’s Big Government subsidized GOVERNMENT CONTRACT academics at the University of Chicago (see wiki under The Chicago Boys) and the University of California at Berkeley (see wiki under The Berkeley Mafia) trained and leveraged U.S. Intel resources to guide the Indonesian Military’s bloody taking control of the Big Prize of the 1960’s Cold War national resource-rich economy and centrally manage it. No hidden hand of the Free Markets ran and runs Indonesia today any more than it runs even post de-regulatory WTO and GATT or Global Trade Agreements.

Ralph as usual has a thoughtful column, but I cant help but think his constant talk of “duopoly” and the false equivalence of Rs and Ds that implies has helped bring on the many disasters that Trump has inflicted on the US

" In 1974, the Office of Legal Counsel in the Justice Department concluded that the president cannot self-pardon."

Too bad that does not apply to the V.P. too! No doubt Pence, the Trump stooge will pardon Trump.
